Seems like Ukraine can just pick its targets and make it happen. The locals must have had enough of the Russians.

I don't really get the point of lying.  Ukrainians did it means they can strike anywhere... Sabotage means your war is unpopular enough your own people are striking for them.

They're both bad.

I don't know what goes on inside Putin's demented head, but I think the reptile hindbrain residing there is keeping him from attacking NATO out of pure fear of annihilation.

If Russia tried anything to a NATO member their military will be taken apart at the seams. It would make the "highway of death" in Kuwait look like a jaunt through Disney World.

Right?!?

The sheer number of "hey remember when we trained for the Russians' kicking our ass with XYZ?" conversations that must be happening at Happy Hours now (and generating good laughs) must be astonishing.

It's a farking good time to be in intelligence, despite Trump's very best efforts during his reign.

After how lousy they did in Ukraine, it's obvious that NATO could curb stomp Russia while playing Pokemon Go on the side.

The problem is is that the bigger the smashing, the higher the chance the nuclear missiles will be flying.

There has to be military intelligence dudes (I'm picturing accountants with clipboards and green eyeshades) running around tallying how well every single weapons system did against every other weapon system, since the variety of arms used on both sides in Ukraine is insane.  They will tally up each weapons strengths' and weaknesses' like they were Consumer Farking Reports.  Make a little chart that looks something like this:

Oh absolutely. And that's just one aspect. The amount of Russian operational data we're hoovering up - both observational and sigint - must be staggering. The Orcs have laid their full hand out on the table for everyone to see, and it's garbage. An absolute disaster for their operational security, once-in-a-century magnitude.

Yep, I've assumed from the very early days that western military and arms manufacturers had people in Ukraine grabbing intel, picking stuff to be sent back to be tested, looking at the damage done to tanks etc.
This is real world testing you just can't do in a lab, and lots of it. There were Fark threads where entire Russian command centre trucks had been abandoned. I assume at least a couple of them are already back in the US being tested in exercises.
