Up until a few weeks ago, I was convinced that this would end with Saul getting a redemption arc, but after the mall caper and him nearly strangling Carol Burnett, he's too far gone.  At this point, he's probably heading to jail, if he's lucky.  The final scene (or maybe the final act) almost certainly has to have a smash cut to color as the Gene persona fully dies and Saul is all there is.

Jimmy is objectively a terrible person.  It may be due to seeing his father getting taken advantage of repeatedly.  It isn't his brother's fault, even though he was an ass.  He was given every opportunity to go straight, and he didn't want it.

He doesn't deserve redemption, he's never sorry for all the harm he causes.  Kim does repent, however, and I think she will get redemption.

I hate to see this end.  I love the characters...

I saw an interesting analysis of this show over the weekend.  The fact that Gene's story is black-and-white is because Gene already feels dead in his current life.  His world lost its color when he was forced to leave the Saul persona behind.  That's why we saw the color reflection of the Saul Goodman ad on his glasses - he was seeing his former life and it showed how much he missed it.  I don't know if I agree with that or not... if that were the case, then when he started the identity theft ring with Jeff, you'd think the color would have come back, but it didn't.

I have a bad feeling that Gene won't survive this.  I think Marion will tell Jeff that Gene almost killed her and Jeff will contact some people in ABQ who will come after him.  Or when he tries to call the vacuum repair guy, the feds are listening in and trace him from that maybe?

I hate for it to be over, but I can't wait to see how it ends

Damn, wish I lived near a Cinnabon.  The closest one is at least 90 miles away :(

Predictions:

-We'll have a color ABQ sequence or two, first of Mike telling Saul that "the big guy" would like to meet with this Heisenberg and his partner after all. The possible second one being shortly after Walter White becomes a fugitive, Saul realizing that it is game over and he has no choice but to also go on the run.

- I think we have seen the last of Kim Wexler. Her on the bus, completely racked with guilt over what she has done, combined with the possibility of facing some jail time, sobbing as the hand tries to comfort her, seems to me a fitting send off for her character. Even if DA decides not to press charges, happy days in her future will be few and far between.

- Jimmy/Saul makes an attemmpt to go back to plan A and contact Ed the Vacuum Cleaner Repairman, only to find out that he has died, or disappeared altogether.

- Marion will not lie to protect Jeffy, having given him too many chances already. She will spill all she has seen to the police. Jeffy, in turn, will co-operate and tell the police everything that he knows in the hopes of a lighter sentence.

- Finally, Jimmy/Saul will realize that he is cornered and surrenders himself to the police to spend the most of the rest of his life behind bars. I just don't see the series killing him off.

I don't normally watch it until 15-20 minutes after it airs.  I like to put my son down first so I can watch in peace and fast forward thru commercials, so I'm going to make sure to not use the internet at all when it starts airing to avoid spoilers.  It was nice being excited for Monday's while it lasted, time to go back to despising them.

I'm truly going to miss this show. The characters were so tenderly treated. The writers didn't rely on monologs to let you know where the characters were. The plots were clever. The acting was top notch. It hit me the other day that the story has gotten so good that I almost forgot Michael McKean was in it for the better part of three seasons.

Speaking of, Chuck and Lalo were the best villains the Breaking Bad universe ever came up with. Chuck being pure spite and malice hiding behind a moral superiority. And Lalo just straight up being an extremely charming psychopath. I truly wondered how the show would fare without them...then Kim talked to Howard's widow at the memorial, and Gene broke into the house himself and almost strick the cancer patient with the urn.

I'm done theorizing where the show may end. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the finale.

I think the journey of Jimmy was way more compelling than the journey of Walt. And the BCS Facebook page has teased that Kim's story is not over yet either. So I'm fully prepared for some heartbreak.

I predict we'll see more of Saul and Walter in the vacuum cleaner's basement.

Gene and Saul will be dead by the end of the episode. The DEA will soon know that Saul is in Omaha and the police will be flooding Marion's neighborhood once Life Alert alerts them. Gene will be running to his apartment and bugging out as it won't be long until still in custody Jeff flips and the dots are put together.

Flashback to between Kim leaving and him becoming all Saul. There was a lot that happened in that time frame. That will end just before Kim arrives with the divorce papers. Mike and Gus may be in these scenes but their stories are done until BB.

Leaving Gene behind, Saul goes on the run and will make a shot for the border (assuming that scene of him going back to Jimmy's abandoned car wasn't a throw away). Saul may run into whoever is looking for Jessie but will try one last con and get caught. Slippin' Jimmy will accept that it is over, will not pass go, will not collect $200 and go straight to jail unless whoever is left of the cartel gets him first and he goes out like Walter as the police arrive.

Then, just as all goes to black for Jimmy, we suddenly see David Cross's waking up Bob Odenkirk to tell him that they couldn't get Bryan Cranston for the season finale of their show. As Bob slowly wakes up, we see him put on Marco's ring while a combo of the BB and BCS themes play as a blonde show runner tells him to hustle.

Lalo - absolutely, but not Chuck. He was flawed in many ways, but he was too much of a tragic figure to be a "villain". When Gus hissed to Walt that he would kill his infant daughter, he cemented his spot as the other top villain in the BB/BCS universe. Jack, Todd, and the other Neo-Nazis are close behind.

This is also my prediction.  Saul dying would too much resemble Walt's fate.  Saul ending up in prison makes a lot of sense to me.

Vince has said in interviews it's always better to end a story a little too soon instead of too late. I think this will close out the BB/BCS universe forever.

I don't think that excludes him going to jail and them later doing a El Camino like followup but I could see it going either way.
