GOP: We want answers!
DOJ: Okay, here is a listing of the laws that Trump was breaking and an inventory of the evidence.
GOP: Why won't you answer us?!

How are we meant to know what excuses to make when we don't have ALL of the details about how illegal this stuff was? We're swinging in the breeze here! Is it "blame the governement movers" bad? Or "the real problem here is the espionage act" bad? Or do we need to start claiming it was all ANTIFA because literally nothing else we say can justify how bad it actually was?

Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) similarly griped that he believes the DOJ needs to "lay out their case" for the Mar-a-Lago search

They already did- to the judge who approved the search warrant.

Because they legitimately don't know how to spin this. They've been so used to whataboutism that when a situation like this arises, they automatically resort to it and then blue screen when they realize there's nothing to "whatabout" here.

Her emails and Hunter Biden's nose candy habits have nothing on Nuclear Treason and violation of nearly every secure records act.

No one on the other side of the isle has done anything comparable to this in the entire history of the nation.

Yup, they want it all laid out so they can start picking it apart and setting a narrative.

Let'em sit and flail, they can respond when or if Trump is charged with something.

The entire spin machine is failing on this one. It's why there's been so much encouragement of the common man's anger at their cult leader being busted on this one.

They have to play it as political persecution, a frame up, a scam on them because he "dared" to try to "make America resemble how they believed it was" in a time that never existed in the first place.

The GOPers are Trump's friends. Trump knows what was going on. Why don't they just ask him? If he's done nothing wrong then he'll just be able to explain that to them and then they can go public with that explanation.

It's exactly my story, to take just that as an example. I've never had anything to do with illegally holding classified goverment documents. If I was accused of it, I'd be able to explain to my supporters that I never had access to the documents, custody of the documents, awareness of the documents and my fingerprints and those of my household members sure as shiat won't be on those documents. It's really that simple. That's a pretty straightforward defence.

Now it's Donny's turn.....

Ackshually...

The presidential records act has only been in existence since 1978. Before that time presidential documents and effects were considered personal property. So there were many, many presidents who just took everything with them when they left office.

So it's unfair to say he's the first president in history to do this. He's just the first since it became blatantly illegal.

Their "griping" is all pure bullshiat.  They know exactly why the raid happened and they know it was for legitimate reasons.  They know the docs were as sensitive as they say they are.  They know that Trump is in serious shiat over this and they are unwilling to admit any of it.  The the GQP are the scum of the Earth and may as well be hostile foreign agents.

Turner was just so predictable.  I watched his CNN interview.  A summary of his talking points is
Sure the boxes were labeledTS and TS/SCI but we don't know if that's what was actually in them.
It's all two years old.  How secret could it be?
Sure they're marked secret, but are they really important to national security?  We should be the judge of that.
Hilary exposed real time stuff, these documents aren't real time, they're two years old.
Rewind and repeat.  Brianna Keilar tried to hold his feet tl the fire but he talked over her in a gish gallop.  Everytime he paused for breath she relentlessly pointed out he hadn't addressed the question and his premises were shaky at best at which point the gish gallop would start over again.  Dude talked at Gym Jordan speed in a mix of irrelevance and misinformation throughout.  I had to bail about two thirds of the way through.  The flailing was too crine inducing.

I'm referring to the fact Trump has committed numerous crimes, including meeting the actual definition of Treason, by what he has done.

Violation of the presidential records act and violation of his own "her emails" law are the least of his concerns right now.

Same tactic as dealing with leaks.  Sure the leak exposes deep corruption, but the real crime here is going public with the boss' secrets.

If I remember correctly (and someone will do so if I'm wrong), but when I was on Active Duty in the early-1990s, the mere act of incorrectly labeling something with an incorrect classification meant the material or object (e.g. floppy disk, magnetic tape, or even a document) meant that material or object was treated as such until it was properly declassified.  People handling the material or object who did not have proper clearance would be in deep kimchi regardless of the material's proper classification.

I know we shouldn't be surprised, but the blatant hypocrisy of the GQP is a 13 on a scale of 1-10.

It's less than 3 months before an election. They want to know if they can run their "Daddy Donald is a political prisoner" ads without being bitten in the ass by the truth come October.

And some of them who went down to Mar A Lardo are a tad more nervous, wondering whose exact fingerprints the FBI is dusting for, and if they also subpoenaed any surveillance video from their rooms.

Graham's already practicing: "He said he wa-, I mean SHE, she, she said she was 18."

Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) - "But I think it's very important long-term for the Justice Department - now that they've done this - that they show that this was not just a fishing expedition."

Did he somehow miss the part where the national archives realized that docs were missing and asked for the docs and got nowhere, they then subpoena the docs and only got some of the docs returned, they then asked if that was all of the docs and Trump's lawyers said yes, so they then came with a search warrant sought by the countries top law enforcement officer. Thats not what anyone* would call a fishing expedition.

See -- I think there's a possibility....remote, granted, but - I think it might be Tiffany.

She has a law degree - and I don't think for a second Trump - going to his 'hey, tell me law stuff for free' - and probably showing her the damned things - and if they were keeping these things in a shed by the pool - I don't think it's a stretch to go to a Trump kid could just ask anyone where they were, and it was pretty clear errrrrrrrbody at Mar A Largo knew where the shiat was.

And, let's face it - she is the 'cleanest' of her sibs.  Girl has managed to dodge a lot of shiat storms while having the most recognizable surname in America.  No better way to distance yourself from the unfortunate genetics of your coming to be.

This one is peculiar because they tried spinning it 3 or 4 times over the weekend and nothing has stuck.  The almost inmediate dismissal of their lies has been pretty effective.
The problem is that this is one big issue and they've been preparing for it for over a year.  They still need to get better at killing lies in real time every day.  Like there needs to be a newly created Snopes cabinet position tied to the Press Secretary with an army of lawyers and fact checkers.
