Just standing around as sculptures it's not really enough of an effect on things to matter, when it gets shiatty is when you pave over vast expanses of ground

Try a google search for 'concrete sculpture' and this is just... crap.

I hope people get to see the largest moose turd or something on the way.

The process for creating concrete generates huge amounts of CO2 emissions.  Your description of how it is used is also terrible.

Feels like some of what the artist said was mis-quoted from a spelling perspective and the editor didn't care enough to see if it made sense in context.

Yes, and so do a lot of things.  I'm fairly certain a few sculptures covering minimal amounts of ground are pretty negligible overall.  They don't cover vast amounts of territory, they're effectively small boulder-sized bases in the ground with the rest of the sculpture freestanding.  I'm not sure if you're just in a pedantic mood today or what, but going straight to "concrete is the debil!" for some sculptures is a little, "Settle down, Beavis"  Your average block-sized sidewalk or 20' of suburban sidewalk is going to have FAR more effect on things.  Yes, it has an impact.  Personally I'd regard it as minimal and acceptable in the service of the creation of an art piece.  I'm fairly certain so would most ;p

Come now, Canada. This isn't how we do "Screaming Heads."

These ones appeared to have been willing volunteers.

No. Not where I come from.

The heads would have been put out of our misery before they were mounted upon the hardware. I've got both OSHA and FEMA and probably the attention of several other alphabet soup agencies.

Ehh - I'm not even gonna go that far.  It's more like someone posted a picture of some death by chocolate desert, and the response was, "Refined sugar is horrible for people."   Is it?  Yeah, sure - it is.  Does that mean that occasional usage/consumption is the end of the farking world when done in moderation?  Unsurprisingly, no it doesn't, and you're edgelording the hell out of the thread with a comment of that sort

Desert?  Good lord that wasn't even auto-correct - just home grown dysgraphia.  Mea maxima culpa - dessert even

Some numbers if someone wants to do the math:

Gasoline emissions 3140 kg/m^3 (including extraction, transport and refining)

Concrete emissions 410 kg/m^3 (direct emission and fuel burned)

I've been seeing bumper stickers of those screaming heads for years now.  I thought it was the logo for some obscure band until I finally heard of this guy.  The stickers actually look pretty cool:

There is a festival that takes place on the guy's property. They've adopted his sculptures as their logo. There's still tickets for this year.

They served as an alien landing spot / portal  in "Cosmic  Dawn", a little indy SF movie.  Entertaining and a good effort for a no-budget.

They added a disc golf course, but I promptly launched one into a pond.
