Ok, until following the links in this story, had no idea about this:

https://www.axios.com/2021/04/13/new-mexico-governor-sexual-harassment

Hallinan spoke with both the Albuquerque Journal and me in late 2019 before I joined Axios, sharing allegations about Grisham's behavior, which he said included unwanted groping in the presence of others.

How often do you hear about a female politician groping a dude?  I'm sort of impressed.

Yeah, you've got to take a left turn at Albuquerque...

So his argument is "Republicans should try not being assholes" and he's backing Ron DeSantis?

Ok.

Ronchetti is a Tя☭mp toadie so if he wins every gain we have made in the state will be stripped away and the MAGAts will shiat on everything good here. We have a BUNCH of MAGAts too, unfortunately, most Tя☭mpers are of the "cowboys for tя☭mp" variety. All of them are farking nutballs.

2022-08-15 1:13:22 AM
So they roll over and elect a MAGAt governor and make abortion legal. Everything seems fine for maybe six months and then suddenly every female in the state under 70 wants to take a cast iron frying pan upside the heads of every republican. I'm not saying that they don't deserve it, I'm simply calling bullshiat on them playing the victim card when that which they have sown is ripe for the reaping.

Is "Latinx" suddenly out of fashion?

"DeSantis campaigns in ______ (battleground state with a known pocket of corrupt GQP with fingers in the right places) with surprising results."

That may as well be the template headline from now to 2024.

The analysis bores me, tbh.  Anyone who isn't 100% anti-Republican has mental issues

New Mexico is a cradle of Native American history and culture, is a bastion of Latino and Hispanic pride, is home to spectacular natural wonders and attractions, has a traditional of world-changing scientific discovery and innovation, and can boast the fundamental liberty of legal cannibis - all things that the modern GOP despises and/or derides.

FTFA: "Ronchetti has kept his distance from Trump, who is deeply unpopular in New Mexico, but is betting DeSantis will be a more popular surrogate."

The problem with the GOP is that a nasty vindictive psychopath like Rhonda Santis is in anyway a popular choice.

I'm groping this isn't good news.

Driving the news:The New Mexico Secretary of State's Office shows five monthly payments of $12,500 - beginning last November - from Lujan Grisham's campaign to an Atlanta-based law firm representing James Hallinan, a former campaign spokesperson.

Depending on how November goes - NM is one of the three states I'm eyeing to move to.

I guess if they go red, it throws my choices down to two....but MAN....they are currently in the lead.

Come on, NM - I can deal with WA, and CO would be fine, but no easy access to a border if the US goes full Gilliad and I need to go to a non-Gilliad Cosplay Utopia - NM throws me to the warmer climate to decide which country gets my refugee ass.  Please don't go all red on me.  Please!!!!

It was in fashion with the well intentioned for like a week and a half.

It does appear to still remain in fashion with the "desperate to be offended" crowd you represent so well.

The great thing about New Mexico is the awesome food that you can find everywhere.

The bad thing about New Mexico is that all the food is Mexican.  One has to go to Taco Bell to get a break from the Mexican food.

After visiting Taco Bell, you quickly fall back into the great thing about New Mexico is the awesome food you can find everywhere...

How does Fark have two people who think it's a better idea to seek refugee status in Mexico than in Canada? Or for that matter two people who would rather move to New Mexico than Washington?

Washington is ranked 7th among U.S. states by median household income. New Mexico is ranked 45th above only Alabama, Louisiana, West Virginia, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Washington is ranked 11th by percentage of 25+ year olds with college degrees. New Mexico is ranked 42nd. On top of that New Mexico is facing droughts expected to become much, much worse due to climate change. Moving there seems a staggering act of bad planning.

The Ronch brought in DeSantis last night for a rally down South.

The guy... Ok both of them, but I'm speaking about the Ronch, is an idiot yes man that has a golden parachute with the fox affiliate here and is completely controlled by others.

Whereas Florida and Texas have rich Latinos who attribute that wealth to the GOP, NM has poorer Latinos, Native Americans (ALWAYS Lib), and Santa Fe/Taos. That state won't turn ever.

We seem to like republican governors every now and then.  We aren't beyond electing the crazy ones too.  Remember Carruthers?

There is a big concern about crime in ABQ and Santa Fe that could very much make the difference.

DeSantis is on drugs if he thinks he can get any traction here.

Ah. Once again Ronnie D abandons his leadership position in Florida to go do other things.

Val Dennings has been running some smart ads against Rubio and his abysmal voting record.

Time to go against DeathSentence similarly for how often he's out of the state doing other things.

But right now the Dems are too busy cat fighting each other for primary votes.

Stop telling us why we shouldn't vote for the other person and tell us why we should vote for you. (Yeah, I know...a pipe dream)

Not necessarily looking to go to Mexico as a final stop - but gonna be a lot easier to travel from there than it may, if the US gets THAT BAD (And it's looking a lot less 'You talkin' crazy girl' than it did a few years ago.)

The Trump cult scares me far deeper than I care to admit.  I see one of two scenarios happening:  1.) The US finally splits into two countries.  We almost have to - we are not governable, quite literally, when there are two different realities 1/3 of our citizens have set up perm residence in and will not budge, or 2.) the Fascist folk took a farkton of notes and will get their shiat together in time so the next coup works.  The State Trumpers polling super high for SoS and Governor seats, and Desantis as a 2024 nominee, terrify me in that regard.

I get a feeling an exit strategy from our motherland ain't the worst thing to have in the back of my mind when the GQP decides to just go full facist.

Ignoring Hispanic voters has kept TX, AZ, and FL firmly under Republican control.  I may not agree with Mike Madrid's politics, but he's been screaming this warning at Democrats for literally years, and they keep ignoring it.

I wish Clafoutis hadn't moved from their location next to Blake's. It was such an easy diversion on the way to the ski area. But parking is a lot better.

They were already in their current location when I moved here, so I honestly don't know any better, but I've heard similar from a lot of people! I try to get brunch there on a semi-regular basis (my barber is across the street in the CVS complex, so I go when I get my hair cut).

The owner (or manager?) is a DELIGHT.

The guy is a local TV weatherman. He ran for Senate and lost. Then he ran for mayor of Albuquerque and lost. He has no experience in government. He must have someone really lining his pockets. Lujan isn't the best governor but at least she won't try to make New Mexico a Christian theocracy.
