The animated series is woefully underrated. Doing a clip show in the second episode takes balls.

Lionsgate and Fathom Events announced that the theatrical release of Clerks III has been extended a full week and will receive four additional big screen dates throughout the month of September, including Sept. 14, 16, 17 and 18. "Thanks to you, thanks to all of your interest in Clerks III, and buying advanced tickets for the Fathom Events screenings on September 13th and 15th, movie theaters have added more days, they've extended us, so now you can go see Clerks in a movie theater near you," Smith said in an announcement.

So, it's showing from the 13th to the 18th?  That's six days -- in a row!

/Try not to show any screenings on your way through the parking lot!

I like that the View Askew website has been hacked for the past several years, intentionally or unintentionally. It lends a real GenX quality to his whole product.

It's cool that Kevin had some seriously good timing going for him. Looking forward to it.

I sort of gave up on Kevin Smith after his last few movies. Hopefully this one isn't a stinker.

Meh.  Maybe I'll rent it.

I'll watch it. Clerks 2 was surprisingly good. The new Jay and Silent Bob was fun once for the fan service. I tried rewatching it and got bored after five minutes.

I've seen a handful of Kevin Smith movies and for the first time last night I watched a clip of Mallrats. I don't think I missed anything here, I didn't like the feel of it.

Clerks seems to be his most personal series of movies.  The first one was basically just a movie of his life at the time he made it, the second one was basically about having a midlife crisis, and the new one is about him making his first movie.  So I'm looking forward to it, although I'll probably wait until it hits streaming.

Mallrats is a great way to spend a lazy weekend afternoon.  It's not great cinema, and it's not trying to be, but it's well-paced, has a memorable cast of characters, and is nice if you remember the heyday of the malls in America.  I'm actually looking forward to his sequel for it and seeing how he treats the current state of malls in the country.

Same film, several iterations.  Kevin Smith is like my aging mom, telling the same stories over and over, getting some of the details mixed up, and only ever able to move me to bittersweet nostalgia.  Unlike your mom, subby, who knocks my socks off.

Also, Mallrats has probably one of the best Stan Lee cameos that he's done, Ben Affleck at his absolute douchiest (which actually works well here), and Michael Rooker.

So I actually caught them when they were broadcast and if I recall, the clip episode was actually the first one they broadcast so it was triple confusing. It was a testament to the originality of the show that I still laughed my ass off.

Yeah, I think you're right. I didn't see it broadcast, but it's mentioned in the commentary. The DVD commentary is absolutely worth it for this show.

I dunno, Clerks and Mallrats were written by a 22 year old Gen Xer who wasn't a 50 year old millionaire who had a couple heart attacks and made a half assed stab at writing a few comic book movies. I'm rooting for him but not too optimistic.

I would like to see this movie with my son. I love most Kevin Smith movies, but you don't screen them between Bob the Builder and Harry Potter. I'll never forget my son coming home during his freshman year of college and asking me "Have you ever heard of a movie called 'Clerks'?" We watched several Kevin Smith movies together that weekend.

I'll never understand the appeal of Kevin Smith movies. I've taken bowel movements that have been more interesting.

I guess they're living proof that you'll never go broke appealing to the lowest common denominator.

The only show that I can think of that attempted something similar was Community, which had 2 different clips episodes featuring clips of past events that were never in the show. They were pretty good, but nothing beat showing the same potted plant falling over and over again in Clerks TAS.

I have no complaints about Mallrats at all. Not in my top 100 favorite movies probably, but definitely worth watching, even if it is ultimately a movie that is less than the sum of its parts.

The screaming, the laughing, the screaming and laughing while crying. You should really start selling tickets to those shows.
