Of course they'd say something like that so that we'd be distracted from the REAL conspiracy! Share this if you agree!

Of course it does; when economic inequality increases enough, poor lizard people aren't able to afford well-fitting human suits and are more easily spotted by average mammal people.

What is the correlation between inbreeding and conspiracy theories?

Of course. When you're told over and over that hard work leads to wealth and you keep working your ass off and you're still poor, a conspiracy is the only logical explanation.

The participants were then asked the extent to which they agreed or disagreed with the statement "I think that the official version of the events given by the authorities very often hides the truth."

Crazy bastards, agreeing with such a statement.

Before agreeing or disagreeing, btw, one must ask "are the current authorities members of my tribe, or the other one?"

"The theory of economic inequality relationships with conspiracy theories is itself a conspiracy theory. I myself am not a wealthy man, but I don't believe any conspiracy theories. All I know are the facts about the federal government supercomputer The Beast, which is not theoretical. It is absolutely real. They want people to believe that everyone who is poor is gullible, but I know some very gullible wealthy people. Check it out."

Inequality creates real conspiracies.  Rich people really are sort of conspiring to create a political and legal environment in which they can get richer, which is going to make everyone else poorer as they bleed every-growing percentages of GDP into their own hands.  And they don't care, because you're poor and thus don't matter.

Now, generally speaking these 'conspiracies' are merely converging interests driving convergent behavior and not a literal conspiracy, but the effects are the same.  And if you're on the wrong end of a deal with a rich person and discover how the economic, legal, and political systems tell you to fark right off if you think you're going to get any kind of justice... it's going to look a lot like a conspiracy to you.

So yeah, I have zero difficulty believing that environment is a spawning ground for conspiracy theorists.

Sometimes conspiracy theories aren't theories.

Live in the pods and eat the bugs.  You will own nothing and be happy.

That isnt a conspiracy.  They just forgot to tell ylu the other part.  The elites will live on the vast estates and eat the waygu.  They will own everything and be happy.

The future has been decided.  Choose which zone you want to live in.  Choose between Hive City West or Hive City East.  You will grind resources for the elites.  You will take soma.  You will go home eventually, to the soylent factory.

Too bad actual conspiracies are too mundane or technical for most people to follow. Panama Papers proved the rich avoid paying their share of taxes, showing the elites have separate rules for themselves.

But what gets clicks is when every celebrity death is someone murdered by a secret cabal of lizard folks drinking children's blood.

It's what my parents used to call "the peasant mindset".
