People suck. This summer a number of park restrooms were vandalized around here which causes closure. It's just stupid and selfish behavior. Get a hobby or something. Stop ruining other people's stuff for no reason other than you are a useless person.

What motivates this?  I get the idea of vandalism in protest.  But what motivates people who just do destructive shiat for the lulz?  I do not at all get it.

My greatest joy is ruining other people's fun. Won't someone think of the trolls?

Beer.  And evil.  Mix the two and you have real problems.

Are you sure it's vandals and not another summer of UV exposure and rough use?

I'm assuming it is Louisville, Nebraska.  I had never heard of it before and had to Google it.

Some people are just assholes. If they're young enough perhaps they'll grow out of their asshole-ish ways and regret the things that they did when they were teens. If not, hopefully they'll wind up in jail for one reason or another because this world sucks enough on its own without other people making it worse.

In some circles, ruining other peoples' stuff for no reason is a hobby.

Perhaps their ancestors were pillaged and violated by a rampaging horde of Cossack inflatables?

The local fire/rescue doesn't have a scuba team that could help out? Really?
Could be a training session for them...

I was an asshole teenager.  Spray painting shiat. Breaking things.  Throwing rocks at cars. One day I threw a rock at the wrong car.  Dude jumps out and starts blasting with a gun as I was running off. Pretty much cured me of that behavior that point on.

Years later as an adult, I come home to find a rock thrown through my front window. I kinda sighed and said "Well I guess I deserved it for all the stupid shiat I did."

We need a constitutional amendment specifically stating that public flogging is not cruel and unusual punishment.

My "breaking shiat" phase came to a similar but much less dramatic end. My dad saw me throw a rock at a car. Before the guy in the car could stop and get out my dad was already spanking my ass. After he finished, we went around the neighborhood and repaired every single broken window regardless of whether or not I was the one who broke it.

Omaha does for sure, being on the Missouri river.

But Louisville?

It's on the Platte.

There aint no diving in the Platte...

This sucks.  I've been through Louisville before but didn't know about the park.

To be clear on that, I did all of the repairs while he supervised. He definitely turned it into an educational moment, because I still know how to replace and reseal window panes.

One of the most useful skills my granddad taught me. God I owe him so much.

A few minutes on a trampoline and I'm ready to die and I'm only 145lbs and move all day long, almost never sit.

This weekend I have been wondering what drives some people to work so hard at being an asshole. Examples I contemplated:

The kindergartner that will not build anything of his own, but stands by watching so he can knock over someone else's tower the moment it is complete;
The elementary school child who throws down his slice of Pepperoni Pizza the moment he hears the host/hostess say "I hope we have enough cheese pizza for the vegetarian kids." He immediately begins snatching slices of cheese pizza and taking bites out of them as fast as he can.
The smirking middle school student who begins talking to a classmate each time the teacher begins to talk and generally tries to disrupt class as often and as severely as possible.
The high school student who bullies someone because of that person's race, religion, size, accent, gender, sexuality, or family.
The teacher who spends more time yelling than teaching or who seems to pick out one child to make miserable.
The attorney who relishes getting domestic violence perpetrators off.
The cop who takes every opportunity to abuse his power and abuse others.
The multitude of drivers reduced to a Mr. Magoo  skill level by the fact that they hold and talk into their phones the entire time they are driving anywhere.
The drivers who speed like they are driving the Indy-500, tail-gate, cut others off rapid-fire then brake, and who drive 40 on the interstate.
Etc.

How can these people be redirected?  Is there no way to make them less obnoxious? Can they be motivated to WANT to be a decent person? If so, how?
