What made Jihn Wick was long takes with clear, coherent action in the frame so this f*cker better not be baiting us with the name drop for some difficult to watch, poorly edited nonsense or even just some mediocrity like a Chris Pratt movie/show.

I got a kind of evil dead vibe off the trailer.
What with the contortions the vamps went through.
All it needed is for one of them to say: "I'll swallow your soul".

Holy Christ, Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco?

Should have titled it Douche and Douchier. Hard pass because of the casting.

I'm not getting John Wick off the description at all. More like a better conceived version of John Carpenter's Vampires.

Which is a good thing, IMHO. Definitely adding this to the watchlist.

That's definitely closer than John Wick. It was good, sometimes over-the-top, popcorn-flick fun. Drops a few hints for a sequel.

It was just barely entertaining enough to not feel like a waste of your time. The attempts at comedy all fall flat, and the "buddy cop" premise never actually materializes. The action is passable but almost entirely removed from the main plot, and the antagonist is never threatening or capable of inspiring fear.

I wouldn't call it a popcorn flick. It's not something really worth sitting down and watching. It's more appropriate as something you put on when you're ironing laundry or making dinner.

Is there a dog, and does Dracula Fark with it?

If you're hoping for John Wick-style action, you might be disappointed. The fight scenes are singularly focused on vampires contorting their bodies into different shapes for apparently no reason whatsoever.

Their contortions do not serve any fighting purpose or make them terrifying foes. They just give the human characters free time and freedom of movement.

You know how in martial arts movies somebody will be fighting a group of 30 people, but 29 of them are just dancing in the background while the hero fights them one at a time? It's like that but instead of dancing, the vampires are doing yoga.

I had never heard of this movie but the title instantly made me think of Day Watch (and Night Watch) films.

Watch those instead.

That's what I thought, in fact I assumed this was a American remake.

Ugh. This was awful. Like a kids version of a horror movie.
"Hey, let's have a world building vampire scenario where we have all these DIFFERENT types of vampires."
"Ok, then what?"
"They all have these different ways they live"
"Will we show the audience that?"
"No. And you can't really tell them apart either"
"Ok, then what?"
"Nothing. It absolutely doesn't matter."
"Brilliant!"
"And let's make Snoop Dog an action cowboy."
"I love it!!"

I watched this.  They have some reasonable good acting but the plot went to a toilet pretty darn quick.
It had all these interesting ideas and then went nowhere with them. Instead it went with a simple good vs bad, then not all bad were bad, and had almost everyone be really stupid.

Never explained who was bankrolling the 'union', paying all the big money to hunt vampires. Would have been a MUCH better story if it turned out the villain vampire was paying humans to kill vampires that were not working for her.  Or better yet, they could have been selling vampire parts to big pharma for medical cures.

Gave crap little vampire lore, implied it was possible to be a 'good' vampire but then ignored all the super interesting implications of that.  Do they hunt any vampires or just the bad ones?

First 30 minutes was interesting, set up a bunch of good possibilities, then just ignored all the interesting stuff so they could shoot guns but used the fast cuts to make sure you could never really get into the combat stunts.

I had a shiatty week at work and along with a few beers this movie did it's job. Bonus points for Body Count in the soundtrack 🤘

all of netflixs big name action movies turn out to be garbage so I'll pass, the grey man almost drove me to suicide ryan gosling was so boring, free guy was atrocious, as was 6 underground and bright. maybe if they started spending all that money on scripts rather than big name actors.

Kind of reminds me of how time cop's plot fell apart so quickly.

I was dragged there by an ex.

There's a scene near the end with Snoop that is pretty entertaining in a Predator scene nod way.

Also a major Snoop Dog nod to the Lost Boys.

It was dumb fun.

I made solid use of the Netflix 1.5x speed option and it delivered on a lazy lunchtime to eat through a board of cheeses and charcuterie while laughing at how stupid it was.

I'll never watch it again, but I'll watch a sequel if they make one.

Action was not John Wick, but it was this:

More like Crocodile Dundee's dark haired mentally challenged cousin meets Dracula.

Keanu is neck and neck with Costner for worst 90s on screen accent.

I might catch it at some point when I can mentally brace to tolerate Foxx for more than 5 mins.
