I like the malice symbols on Slamwow's wheels. Neat

Lawyer bot gets thrashed in the first round.  But the ammo was still spinning at the end of the fight.

And now a large battle

This is...not a compelling fight.

So, is the Golden Bolt threaded to fit inside the Giant Nut?

Shatter just got Deep Sixed!

Shatter gave it all they had.
Deep 6 is terrifying in person, btw. Something that big shouldn't spin that fast

I didn't think they could use projectiles like Double Jeopardy.  Totally worthless against a bot that doesn't have anything high.

Ribbot was on fire tonight.  Amazing fights and so glad they knocked Donald Hutson out.

Something that has become apparent over the last few seasons is that the battle bots royalty are past their prime.  Yes they kicked ass for years.  But they sat back on their laurels and didn't evolve their bots or driving skills and the new teams learned and grew and now have surpassed the masters.

Battlebots is perfect for time-shifted tv.  22 minutes of commercials.  24 minutes of filler.  12 minutes of WTF.

It used to spin faster.  When they first tested it in the testing box, it was probably louder than Icewave, it was spinning so fast.  Problem was, the weapon practically became a propeller and Esswein couldn't control the bot.  Even when he slowed it down for its first fight, it still gouged a giant hole in the BattleBox floor.  This is Deep Six with a shorter, slower blade & 3 additional years of practice and it was still teetering as Esswein fought the gyroscopic tendencies of that weapon.

They also can't reconfigure for different battles.  Lockjaw, Tombstone, Sub Zero/Spitfire, Captain Shrederator, Son of Wyachi, Hydra, Bronco--they're all one-trick ponies. They were effective for many years but now there are too many young up & comers like Ribbot, Tantrum, and Blip who can reconfigure and guard against those ponies and/or have brought in new innovations.  Hell, even Rusty can reconfigure now!  The old-timers forgot the #1 rule of technology--adapt or die (esp. Sub Zero, after Hypershock literally swatted Spitfire out of the air w/a Dollar Store toy rake duct taped to it).  Even Rotator & Gemini have had to completely abandon their original designs because, as cool of an idea those bots were, they just didn't work in practice.

I agree whole heartedly about not being able to reconfigure your bot for a different opponent.

Yup that bot was the reason for the revisions (additions really) to the weapon weight and speed restrictions the last few years.
It really is a crazy amount of force spinning.

And I come back and finish my thought.

Not being reconfigurable can be a major detriment.
