Argus came out in 1972. It's Wishbone Ash in that Star Wars movie...

Got the Hawkwind.  I only own the Lemmy Years, though.

I have other Hawkwind albums but not that one.

2112 is 1/2 concept album.

The 2nd half is unrelated material

Nevermind.  I thought it was sci-fi OR concept albums, not sci-fi concept albums.

I bought Argus from a used record store in about 1980. There was enough loose pipeweed in it to roll about half a joint.

Now I've got to go dig it out and listen to Time Was.

Genuinely shocked that Jeff Wayne's "War of the Worlds" didn't make the list.

Are we only counting heavy music because Parliament-Funkadelic did an entire series of interrelated concept albums that comprise the "P Funk mythology"

Mothership Connection
Clones of Dr Funkenstein
Funkentelechy vs. the Placebo Syndrome
Motorbooty Affair

Shrugs.

Except for Camel I own the entire discography of all of those bands. Camel I think I only have their 70s run.

The Hawkwind album on this list should be In Search of Space. " Children of the Sun, " Master of the Universe," and "Adjust Me."
Wishbone Ash's Argus is freakin' awesome! Had it on vinyl and played the ever-lovin' shiat out if it!

Subby here.  I also own most of the albums mentioned above.

I feel fortunate I was into Hawkwind, Camel, Wishbone Ash etc in their prime as I got to see a lot of them live.

/ Never saw Gentle Giant in concert
// A friend said he did, "they sucked".  Turns out he didn't like their albums either

Stupid list. Most of those are second-tier albums at best. Atom Heart Mother is the worst Floyd album.

having not owned a denim jacket with large patch for a crappy band sewn on the back poorly I owned none of the albums on the list but Yoshimi is a good pull.

Well the article is about sci-fi concept albums so I'm not sure Mars Volta would fit.  At least their first 3 albums that I'm familiar with.

/ also pretty sure the 3rd album wasn't even a concept album like the first two

I didn't realize Lizard was a sci-fi concept album.

"Robert Fripp doesn't like this album."

What does he know?

Jon Anderson is on that album too. I thought this was interesting.

https://alt.music.yes.narkive.com/x6yBXCsc/robert-fripp-on-jon-anderson

I read this excerpt from a Record Collector interview with Jon
Anderson of Yes fame, posted in Elephant Talk a couple of days ago:

Record Collector:... After the first 2 albums it was rumoured that
Robert Fripp would join Yes. Was anyone else considered?

Jon Anderson:....No, no, no, We wanted Steve Howe. Maybe Chris
phoned Bob Fripp, but the only thing Bob ever said to me was, "If
you're going to play the tambourine, Jon, can you play in time?" I've
met Bob often & he always says, "When are you going to become a
musician?"

Record Collector:.... Your reply?

Jon Anderson:...You're an old fart.

Ayreon's entire discography consists of interconnected concept albums. Also great is Star One, Arjen Lucassen's  side-project where every song is inspired by a scifi movie or TV-show.

Nektar's 'Remember the Future' is the most expensive CD I'd ever purchased.  Dear and lifelong friend kept talking about it and how he couldn't find it anywhere.  I found a copy in a side street record store, in Zurich, in the early 90's, and paid @ $60 for it and gave it to him for his birthday.  He was elated.
csb'ish.
