well if the mirror's taking the piss, he's lost the right wing press, I'd say.  I'm going to focus on that silver lining.

You think the Mirror is "right wing"?

And he's going to be out in a few weeks. Why would he need the support of the press anyway?

It's a Reach Media publication, so the same stable as the Brexpress and other tabloid garbage. It is supposedly editorially left-wing, but given the other garbage publications in the Reach stable, does that actually mean much?

Also, its most famous editor is Piers Moron, who had the job around the time The Mirror was harassing Ian Hislop, but before the time he got sacked for publishing fake pictures of British soldiers peeing on Iraqis.

And these days, Moron has a flagship show on a Murdoch disinformation network, so, well, here we are.

I've wondered before if you've ever actually been to the UK considering the mistakes you've made about things here, but now I'm wondering if Lady J is a Russian influencer as well. No one even remotely involved in British life and politics would ever suggest the Mirror was pro Conservative.

Do you think we'd be better off if we didn't have so many right-wing media organs distorting any national debates that should be had to ensure the country is well run?

Are you still claiming the Mirror is right wing?

The Mirror, Guardian and Observer are left leaning, Morning Star and Socialist Worker are very left wing, and the BBC dominates television news and is very middle of the road, and generally seen as pro-EU, anti-Brexit and as anti Tory and pro Labour by many.

Again, this really does back up my suspicion that you've never actually been to the UK.

Its most renowned editor is a right-wing shiatbag whose current career is as a mouthpiece on Talk TV that is currently trying to brainwash Britons into right-wing ideas.

Moron did push the idea that the Mirror was left-wing while he was editor, but if you don't understand that Moron is essentially an alt-right troll these days, that's pretty much all on you.

I actually don't know why low income people here vote right wing.  there isn't so much that man of the people vs ivory tower liberal bullshiat trope here.

it's not ubiquitous... I live in one of the most deprived London boroughs and it's staunchly leftwing... but then most cities are.

immigration?  I guess.  brexit was very polarising  : (
Corbyn didn't do us any favours, either.

One of the most disheartening things I've seen in recent months - and I couldn't find it the last time I tried to look it up, so I apologise for not citing my sources - is a Tweet about someone who praises the Tories for all the food banks they have in their area, because they never used to have any food banks under Labour.

And, Lady, the usual right-wing trope which might be expressed as "limousine liberal" in the US is "champagne socialist" here.

Both terms are designed to vilify people who might think it's a good idea for people to not live in utter poverty. Both terms have an assonance about them. Both terms probably came straight from News International. Both terms are designed to imply that the people that might consider the interests of poor people don't actually care about them, so vote Tory/GOP.

/Being in thrall to right-wing media organisations farking sucks.
