Probably tears of "Damn it! We were so close to being rid of this fool..."

People come to him all the time with tears in their eyes.   I blame the Depends and their failed No Stink barrier.  It just doesn't work if your 236 pounds or more.  Sad.

Well they knew they were being filmed and if not properly upset they would probably get an AA gun execution or disappear. Remember his dads funeral they were acting like a bunch of teenage drama queens.

The sister (?) already looks like Dragon Lady who'd have you killed for blinking.   Then, killing someone else for not blinking.

I can't imagine what it's going be like for North Koreans to be released from that hell and rejoin the rest of the world.

His death won't be enough - you can smell the dynastic response of his sister. The whole thing would have to crumble, fall apart, before they could be led back into the world. I can't imagine what that would be like, and I'm trying to do so.

These people are brainwashed since birth to believe that only their glorious ruler prevents the demons that inhabit most of the rest of the world from attacking them and their families. So yes, they cry in despair when that leader is threatened.

Imagine what kind of deprogramming it's going to take for North Koreans as a culture to join the world.

Yeah I don't we get it over in other countries. They're all exposed to brainwashing. Some see through it but some become true believers. There are absolutely people who buy it hook line and sinker.

I dunno which this guy is tho.

She'd have to be even more ruthless than he is. It's a male dominated society. The Generals may not like being given orders by a woman. But then again, feed enough of them into a wood chipper and the rest will fall in line.

Urgh... Every time I see footage from NK like that with everybody crying over dear leaders falling ill, I'm reminded immediately that's the country the GQP wants us to be. 100% unity behind the elephant or it's off to the reeducation camps for you pleb.

My trumper neighbor still thinks Kim Jong-un is dead and his sister is running the country.

His son in the "CIA" told him and he saw it on Facebook.

So, I am not sure how a dead person can get COVID.

I've thought about that, too.

Several of my relatives were stuck in East Germany, knowing no other life, until the wall came down. Despite that things worked out great for them at least a few always still kept an eye on their back, "just in case". It's sad.

If that happens it reminds me of the nazi Germany picture where all these factory workers were heiling Hitler except one guy that was giving the finger. Hope we have people as brave as that man.

Obviously there's a lot of state propaganda, but most of the people know it's all performance art. The folks in the South have been sending stuff over the border for decades - books, magazines, and in the digital age, lots of stuff on thumb drives.

Some people can travel to China and other countries, so they know what's going on for the most part.

The people who fear reunification are the Chinese, because they don't want a prosperous Western economy on their border.

More like, Western ally.

But even more they fear a humanitarian crisis that reunification would bring.

When Laibach went to Pyongyang, they played a concert for students. It was very touching to see their faces, they were all captivated. Contrast to the other concert for party members, crickets. Like, only one guy looked interested.

If I were Un I would be quite upset that members of my party did not appreciate a magnanimous gift of culture when children could appreciate it.

KJU has 3 children, and while not much is known about them, people in the know say that the oldest child is a boy and KJU's heir. There's not much chance of Kim Yo-Jong inheriting the throne if there is a male in the direct line. In any event, KJU is still a relatively young man at 39, so he has decades ahead of him to sort out the succession.
