Peter von Nostrand: TILT - screech is dead. And has been for over two years.

More like a year and a half.

As for the condition, it's pretty clear that the occupant was too lazy to take out the trash or to put things away, but on an initial glance it's not burn-it-down-and-rebuild levels of bad.

Huh, dead from lung cancer. I figured it would be an OD with the way his life was going in the news.

Sad he didn't have a chance to get his life back on track, RIP Screech.

I like houses with lots of plants and trees. But...you can't live in that kind of place for long without getting depressed.

I don't know what it is, but there is a point where all the plants and trees and stuff start to suffocate you, even if they are well-groomed and you have lots of good light coming in the windows. You start to fold into yourself. That's my experience, anyway. And Dustin didn't seem like he was a happy guy.

I'm curious about your assertion that having some well-manicured grounds and a nice, airy house is suffocating.

I've personally found it quite nice to be able to move about my home and property.  I'm not specifically confined to one or two rooms, and with numerous rooms it's possible to make each room have its own purpose.

Abe Vigoda's Ghost: I had forgotten he died.

For what it's worth I'd forgotten that he even lived.  I wasn't a huge fan of the show and really I only remember it at all because of the notoriety of Elizabeth Berkley's later choices of role.  I guess I was just a little too young to have paid much attention to it when it was first-run.

He died?
Huh.

It's what I expect an abandoned property to look like after two years--- and there clearly has been a family squatting there: There are men's, women's and a child's possessions throughout the house, and according to neighbors, Diamond lived alone for a while before he died.

Yea, and he was planning on tearing down the building and replacing it with a commercial property so he probably wasn't putting a ton of time into housework.

Meh. Not that bad.

Keg of beer, some whiskey and blow, a roll of 5 mil contractor bags and a 30 yarder - couple, three friends with nothing better to do on a Saturday...all done.

This. First off, there's a ton of perfectly usable, salvageable, sellable shiat in there. I'd call that clutter, way too much to be sure - but I would not call it filth. Looks like an easy clean up with a bunch of free shiat to me. There's garbage there for sure but there's also a bunch of decent furniture and electronics. Dude needs to throw away some shampoo bottles but even the bathroom doesn't look completely disgusting in the way you might expect.

Hording is a symptom of many different conditions but "laziness" is rarely one of them.

What, you're saying her getting banged in the fountain by Kyle McLachlan wasn't Oscar worthy?

Found the house.  Address is: 124 Grandview Dr Port Washington, WI 53074

I cant find any realtor listing for the house that shows more than outside pictures, but this is the place based on the pics from TFA.

I haven't seen the film, is this some kind of euphemism?

I met him probably less than a month before he died.  He was doing an autograph signing at the local mall.  It was right before Christmas and I had been at the mall Christmas shopping a few days before and saw that he and Rudy (the real Rudy from the movie Rudy) were going to be signing at a sports place that weekend.

I debated going, but figured why not.  I think it was $20 or $30 for the picture and an autograph.  Pictures with him were at his discretion.  I got there and he wasn't there.  Rudy was and had one or two people there.  No one was waiting for Dustin.  Someone went in the back and got him.  He obviously was not doing well.

I hung out and chatted with him for ten or fifteen minutes.  He was happy to talk, but I really didn't have a ton to say so eventually I thanked him for helping getting me through college (SBTB was on non-stop), shook his hand and got a picture with him.

A few weeks later it was announced on some news outlet that he had cancer and he was dead a day or two later.  Weird thing was he told me all about his cancer like it wasn't a secret or anything.

It looks nice from the Google street view. It's in a residential neighborhood, so I don't see how it would get turned into a commercial development or whatever they mentioned in the article.

Legitimately cool story, thanks for sharing!

It might be a good sign that he felt okay in sharing he had cancer. Usually that means the person is at least no longer in denial or angry about where they are in relation to cancer.
