"Remember, Jesse is presumed dead; the ABQ DA never saw El Camino."

Wasn't there just a line last week about Jesse's car being found near the border, so they assumed he went to Mexico?  He's not presumed dead - he's presumed fled.

Also, does anyone (other than Saul) know that Mike is dead?

Mike's daughter and granddaughter probably know (or at least know he's missing)

I think Kim will come out alive, but you're probably right about the rest.  I keep expecting Jeffy to call someone in ABQ and rat Jimmy out

I have a theory.

Kim doesn't know where Howard's body is buried. But Saul does.

So he turns himself in, and gives the info to the authorities in exchange for Kim's freedom.  A la Skyler with Hank.

Closure for Saul, who goes to jail. Closure for Kim. And justice for Cheryl and Howard.

Here's my predictions from before the start of the midseason premier: Will Kim Survive thread?
I feel relatively good about how I did, but of course, the writers still did it in ways I never expected.

Jimmy and Kim survive Lalo's visit because he thinks he just did them a favor; he's not there to kill them. He will ask them for a favor, though, and it will be big and possibly push a wedge between Kim and Jimmy (in addition to the revelation that Kim knew about Lalo being alive).

Not a long-odds prediction by any means, but that all happened.

Mike helps them clean up Howard, which is why Saul knows to call him when Jane dies.

Check

Lalo will get into the secret lab, and Gus will go for the gun to kill him. I think they tipped that one a little too hard, though, so something will go wrong with that plan, but Lalo will still end up dead and buried under the lab. That way, Gus isn't worried about him in breaking bad (and he can honestly tell Hector that he killed off the rest of his family), but Saul doesn't know about it and is still worried about Lalo when he's kidnapped by Jesse and Walt.

Another one that was foreshadowed quite a bit, so not too much pride in this prediction, but I did hit most of the fallout too.

As for Kim, I think she is still alive and in the Omaha region. She ends up having to discover the code in the black book and calling the vacuum repairman. It doesn't make much sense for her to be sent back to where she grew up, but maybe it's nearby and she left early enough that it doesn't pose a risk. Gene calls Kim to address the current threat, but it's not a happy reunion or ending.

Generally a miss on this one, but calling Kim to Florida as "Kim Wexler" was just very unpredictable to me. Also, missed on him trying to get Kim to help him out of his current problem, but at least the "not a happy reunion or ending" seems to be correct.

Gene may also turn himself in. It's not a happy ending, but he doesn't deserve one, and it might regain control of his life by doing so and stop having to hide in fear. He might even be a celebrity in prison.

Still waiting to see on this one, but Gene isn't currently in the process of turning himself in. Quite the opposite. Prison seems very strong, and he might give up at some point and face his guilt (especially after realizing how close he was to killing Marion and the cancer guy), but I'm feeling good about the "not a happy ending" at least.

I thought of that, but I couldn't recall when he mentioned Lalo. Whether it was the BB/Saul timeline or the Gene one.

That would kill my theory if it is the Gene timeline.

My theory.. if Saul finds out Kim talked, he's the only other witness to that story and he could end up putting them both in jail. If he finds out and is at risk of being arrested, he's going to "fall on the sword" to protect Kim.

Kim pointed out only her ex-husband could back her story, without any other evidence it's possible no charges would be pressed. At this point he's not aware of what she did after their phone call.

I'm probably wrong but we'll see what happens Monday.

Hell, Saul could just put 2 and 2 together. He knows about the superlab, he knows it was under construction when Howard vanished. Either Howard is there, or he's in the desert somewhere. It isn't hard to figure out.

I think Saul would presume "out in the desert somewhere". Maybe, knowing the cartel as he does, Guess #2 is "dissolved in a barrel of acid and dumped in a lake". Guess #3... "turned into Pollos chicken nuggets"?

"Buried under the super-lab" I don't think would occur to him that quickly.

Skylar talked to the Feds to save her ass.  She likely gave them enough information about Saul to incriminated him on facilitating the drug trafficking as well as money laundering.

gilgigamesh: Kim doesn't know where Howard's body is buried. But Saul does.

Saul likely didn't even know about the Superlab under the laundromat until its burnt-out shell was on the news.  Sure, he knew the business was one of Fring's major fronts and money-laundering locations but there's no reason to believe Mike ever told Saul about the Superlab beforehand.  And certainly no reason to think Saul would even guess Howard was buried under the foundation once he heard about it.  Fring was cartel--they have unlimited ways of making bodies disappear.

Lawyers can't facilitate the commission of a crime, which Saul definitely did. He set up money laundering systems for himself and for his customers, with full knowledge of the ill-gotten sources of the funds. Plus, he's up on conspiracy for every crime he facilitated. And a bunch of other charges, too.

This.  All Skylar had to do was link Saul to Fring and Saul was done.  That's why the Feds grabbed all his hidden assets & shell companies.  If he'd stayed strictly a lawyer for these people, he probably would have been okay.  But that's not the case.  He was a willing participant in cartel business and making a tidy profit from it.  In fact, HE'S the one who created Heisenberg.  Without him, Badger would have flipped and they all would have been done for.  He stopped being a lawyer when he confronted Walt at the high school in Breaking Bad and decided to cut himself in as a partner and hooking him up w/Fring.

Is Kim going back to Florida? That was her purgatory. She was punishing herself by living well beneath her potential. Is she going back to that despite her confession? I'd be crying on that damn bus too.

The scenes of her life in Florida depressed the hell out of me. Because they were too close to my reality. The hell of a self-imposed "normal" life with a meaningless, dull job and moronic banal conversations that we're stuck pretending to care about. Every time someone asked her an idiotic question, her hesitation was her brain screaming "oh my god who the hell cares?" before she answered with something non committal, followed by her trying to contain her frustration as the person pressed the matter and she reluctantly had to give a definitive answer. And sometimes I think Rhea was showing Kim's real thoughts slipping through the cracks. The whole performance was like looking in the mirror to me.

I'm a 45 year old male and I purposefully avoid stress or challenge because I suffer from severe anxiety and panic attacks, along with some serious childhood PTSD because my dad cured his with a bullet. And so my life is dull and beneath my potential by design. My little office job with its pitiful pay and simple monotony is a safe space because I'm afraid of risk and change. Kim's self-imposed imprisonment was painful and familiar in too many ways.

I don't often find fiction to be relatable. Uh, thanks Vince and Rhea, I guess?
