Wow! I support my minor league team (Go, Storm!) and that's amazing. The won't be minor for long.

It helps that he had friends on base.

The fabled "Home Run Cycle".  It's shiat you make up and you need to create buzz when someone hits 4 home runs in 4 innings and you look around and nobody cares.

They were also a solo HR, 2-run HR, 3-run HR, and a grand slam.

that's what I thought - at no point did they say what the hell it was, but when the announcer noted a 3 run home run I figured it out.

Hey subby, lead with that - what the hell a home run cycle is.

Still, that's a remarkable feat and I hope the young man's continued success.

Maybe if one is a reception, one is rushing, one is a punt return and one is a kick return.

Meh.
Would have been better if he'd hit them in that order.

Quite the impressive feat. Should we see this fellow in the majors soon?

Also, four homer games are kinda neat.

The "home run cycle" doesn't exist because a 4 home run game barely exists. It's rarer than a perfect game.

It's happened 18 times in the majors vs. 23 perfect games

Pretty cool. Can't wait to see how he does against actual major league pitchers.

It's one of each type.

One of the MLB teams did this this year, I am fairly sure it was the Mets but I could be wrong.

Or, if you're down 4-18, maybe, just maybe don't pitch to the guy that already has three home runs...

Special Agent: Should we see this fellow in the majors soon?

Probably not.  Seems like he's ultimately projected as a reserve player.

I knew he was special each time the ball made that BING! sound off the bat.

Not surprised he has power as it looks like he has Babe Ruth's build. Can he pitch?

Hmm. According to Baseball-Reference he had a pretty productive 2019 (rookie league) and 2021 (A+, AA), but this is a down year for him in AA. I guess it depends on how good (or bad) the rest of the Cards farm system is.

Had a buddy do this in a softball game and we thought it was pretty amusing then.

Why not? What's the downside at that point?

A different pitcher each time. In the majors an outfielder would have been on the mound trying out his knuckleball and the ump would be calling strikes on anything within 1st and 3rd but in the minors pitchers are expected to attack every batter no matter the situation.

I'm sure he will become at least as big a name as Tuffy Rhodes.

That's very impressive, but it would have been even more impressive if he did it, while dragging Ryan and Koufax up and down the diamond for 9 innings.

The Cards farm system is very good. That's the reason they were in the Soto sweepstakes.

Might just be me but i have to wonder why they did not start intentionally walking the guy after the second homer.

Not to diminish the feat, but it probably hasn't happened in the majors because it's pretty hard to do, especially against the better pitching you will face in the bigs.

There has only been one major league player that even had an opportunity to complete the home run cycle. Scooter Gennette had 2 runners on needing to hit a 3 run dinger and got a single.

a guy on the giants got a GS, 3 run and solo homer in one game.  one of his first iirc.

i can't remember who because i smoke pot

But if one of those came in his last at-bat, or he never came up with just one runner on, he never had a chance to complete the HR cycle.

Pitching isn't the issue, it's having a different number of teammates on base for each one. There have been 18 four-homer games in the majors.

But did he have a chance for the 2 run shot? Gennette had a chance for the 3 run shot.

I think he did have a fourth at bat that game but I don't know if anybody was on base or not.
