Hold on there. Do you mean to tell me that inflation results in goods and services becoming more expensive?!?!

I best repair to my fainting pillow (couch was too costly)

Disney+ is unprofitable. These services will all cost $20+ in a few years.

In fact, their costs all went down.

Inflation does not affect Disney+ at all. I'm here to tell you that there is such things as data and empiricism. You have to find out if a thing has undergone inflation before you can say it is relevant to the price. You failed.

That's a lot of dumb sh*t.  Go eat a Snickers or something.

Also.

A VFX artist, Jason, said that Phase Five was going to dominate a lot of his friend's careers for the next decade. "You see all these timelines for films and just think... It won't ever stop. The workload becomes agonizing at times... We're all just sick and tired of superheroes."

They keep making movies for us to do work on!!?!?!?!?!  This needs to stop.  My career making dumb effects is super important.  I'm going to buy a popcorn machine and cancel movie night!

No?  I went back and read this piece of dog turd called an article.  Maybe your overactive imagination is connecting dots that aren't there.

Sorry, I've been told Netflix going to 14, then 16, then $18 is some lind of Geneva convention clothes tearing crime against humanity.

Why is it OK when Monopoly does it?

What monopoly? The only thing they have a "monopoly" on is Disney content. There are like 6 or 7 other major streaming services and probably a bunch of other minor ones you could get.

They have a monopoly on the U.S. copywrite and trademark office.

Nope.

They lobby a whole bunch to get that stuff to benefit them, but their "monopoly" status as you say has nothing to do with the market in question.

It was bad enough that Hulu made you pay extra to skip ads and now another Disney owned streaming service is doing it too?

Isn't the whole point of paying for a streaming service that you don't get bombarded with ads like some sort of basic cable peasant?

ugh, what a read. i guess until enough talent in the VFX industry gets burnt out and give up, nothing will change.  what's especially egregious is just how much farking money Marvel is making off of these people. I guess working for a studio such as Pixar that own the IP would be the actual dream job for people who thought they had a dream job.

Ads are like Hotel California. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

Nah, you're still paying for it. It's "free," not actually free.

Well, that just sounds like people who prioritize their hobby over running a successful business, and could easily end if they just stopped trying to underbid each other and stood up for being paid what they're worth.

I'd be more open to the idea, but my experience with other services is it's the same 2-3 ads played ad nauseam.

I've got Hulu with ads, but it doesn't play the ads.  I just get a black screen with "Ad 1 of 4" in the upper corner which stays up for the length of time of the ads.

I'm always amused by how people pick and choose what prices they're going to get uptight about.  An extra ten cents a gallon for gas, another dollar or two a month for a subscription service, literally anything at all for a mobile app, all travesties against humanity.  Meanwhile, every last cent they can possibly manage to pay is ok for their car, cable bill, cell phone etc.
