If the GOP still *exists* as a functional entity, it has not received nearly enough bad news.

Dems are finally giving up on neoliberalism and are returning to their economic progressive roots, which was how they kept the GOP from being legislatively relevant for a human lifetime and which allowed social progress to advance at a rapid pace?

Well I've seen Farkers on here spin both high and low gas prices as bad

Gas here low 3.36, average 3.52.  If it gets below 3 I'll fill up again.

I'm pretty sure that the stock market going up is because of overturning Toe. Gifts from god, as it were.

There is a non-zero number of US senators that will consider saying or tweeting something like that.

There's a little 8 square mile area WAAAAAAAY out in western Kansas that's so hot...how hot is it?...it's so hot that it's currently 108 degrees Fahrenheit when the rest of the state is 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

I'm not sure that anyone would notice if it got walled off and we started relocating the Galtsmen there. We can even call it Galts Gulch. And there they can Galt to their heart's content...just as long as the stay in the enclosure.

Who knew that allowing corporations to price gouge and then using that as an excuse to sign a Pacific free trade agreement and raise interest rates on borrowers leading to higher bank profits would lead to a higher S&P 500?

There's only one "good" price for any good/service (which is also the correct price, by economic definition): when the price of something equals the cost to society of consuming something. i.e. not a single penny of negative externalities fall upon anyone else -- the consumer pays for all of it.

/technically it's treading circular logic, but that's what econ defines it as
//econ: 'well ok if there are no externalities and no price-makers, free markets deliver the correct prices. impossible irl but let's assume it.'
///capitalism: 'alright this sounds perfect. we can screw society and enrich ourselves. free market capitalism, everyone! it just works!'

The timing is what makes this so effective politically. Even if not responsible, if things continue to improve, Joe Biden and the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 will get the credit. Meanwhile it nullifies the GOP whole strategy to obstruct, hope things get worse, then blame Biden and the Democrats for it.

How have you not picked up on the "Government intervention is socialism" angle yet? Unless it's influencing and manipulating industry then it's freedom of capitalism.

Socks are going up because Biden is allowing undocumented people from other countries to use currencies that aren't dollars to buy stock (to pump up the prices). It's a side effect of Democrats rampant love for unbridled capitalism

Imagine how much things would have improved naturally without Biden constant interference into everything.

Not necessarily. The whole supply chain/gas prices/inflation thing were more spurned by the slowing down and then reopening of the economy. Since supply trails demand both with surplus and shortage, the cheap gas prices and such were due to the demand slowing considerably before producers could slow things down. In contrast the supply chain issues, inflation, and high gas prices were due to demand increasing exponentially, with supply still at pandemic levels. Now that everything is catching up and we are nearing equilibrium (and even surplus) the prices are going down.

Where Joe Biden comes in is once the economy normalizes and starts growing at a more steady pace, the changes he implemented will fix things, while not enough it's a start, which have needed fixing for a while. Reinvest in things the past few decades of war and austerity caused us to neglect. Basically help build things back better.

I really want a pair of Alpaca socks, but always thought they were too expansive seeing how hard I am on socks. Now it appears I'll never afford them, just like a McClarren
