It became just another money making scheme attached to our prison system.
I knew a guy that was put on such a system and he was required to pay a small fortune for the surveillance.
Poor people always get hurt the most.

Oh yes.
And it's expensive.

It is way more money to incarcerate someone, but the State won't pay for monitoring.
It's a "privilege" to wear one apparently.

I used to work for a house arrest company. What the client paid depended on what he made a year. It was usually about an hours pay a day. There was also additional charge if they had to have a breathalyzer test.
