Because it never really was about Trump, it was about feeding the viewers' delusions about how they're the last Troo 'Murican who believes in freedom and, see, Jimmy Carter's Jade Helm Sorostroopers just invaded the home of an innocent billionaire -- and wouldn't you be a billionaire, too, if not for those dastardly "ethnics" and the Demonrats who take all of YOUR hard-earned SSI-Disability money and give it to the inner cities to buy grillz and rims and skrimps?

tl;dr: Trump is back to being a useful idiot for Fox to sell "investment grade" gold coins, Sharia Atheism Insurance, and drums of Apocalypse Chow to the marks.

He wasn't doing too much... just kinda sitting around sweatily yelping about random grievances. This whole fiasco is back to classic Trump.

Trump may now be the clear  GOP nominee. The Justice Department may have inadvertently put DeSantis on the sidelines.

But that has dangers for the GOP. If Trump announces before the mid-term early voting starts, it in effect puts him on the ballot. The Democratic messaging can then be: "Trump appointed the justices that overturned Roe v. Wade. What's next?"

We know Trump can release the warrant and the inventory. I'm assuming it's not subject to FOIA on the government side ("active investigation"). I read some speculation the the purpose of the warrant was to get the papers back (because Trump wasn't responding to polite requests and subpoenas), not necessarily find evidence that would be used in an indictment. If that's true, maybe DoJ should just say that.

To his loyal base, he's still the President, he could just say these were Presidential papers that he was entitled to keep. Even if it includes a farking list of CIA agents.

They derive billions in ad revenue from the idiot brigade. Why would you ever think they would stop pandering to them? That's their raison d'être.

It doesn't matter if the Murdochs like him or not. Parroting Trump BS is their business strategy at this point, so they're all-in. What's factually true or good for our nation is irrelevant.

They need a distraction. Tucker and Hannity are still trying to figure out if their daily text chats with Alex Jones are going to come back to bite em.

And the Republican Party is now on record as calling for whatever guardrails remain to keep Trump from becoming an out-and-out dictator if he returns to power to be dismantled.

To be fair, there is no level of scum and villainy that Fox News won't support. It IS their brand, after all. I mean, supporting sex offenders and grifters IS their thing, and any sort of investigation is kind of their kryptonite, so getting the proles riled is kind of what they do.

Doesn't matter.

Trump peaked in popular vote in 2020 and was handed his ass.

He's only been more damaged since.

He might incite some to further violence, but it will only be a statistical blip in our usual pattern.

I think it almost guarantees that he'll announce his run very soon. He'll want to ride this wave of sympathy and fame, and he also thinks that if he's running he can use that as a shield against investigation and prosecution (he's an idiot with the worst farking attorneys).

Fox host Jesse Watters suggested that "honest Americans" should be "out on the streets" in response

A  two-fer for Watters: rile up the base and mobilize the real yahoos, plus gives himself a get-out-of the-revolution card as he is the smarmiest liar on Fox.

Because they know this is just the tip of the iceberg. There are many with a R next to their name that are complicit in all of TFG's shenanigans.
Is it a coincidence that this search warrant was issued soon after the Alex Jones texts were distributed to the feds?

Many people are saying he was selling these documents for big bucks, I'll bet you didn't know that.

Their narrative is that if they can do this to Trump, they can do this to any Republican. Not the ones who haven't committed egregious crimes, but that's not the point! Who's next, Matt Gaetz? Is he next? Is Matt Gaetz next? Seriously, I'm asking. Please tell me Matt Gaetz is next. I have a birthday coming up.

You sorely underestimate the fear and hatred conservatives have for the other side. Most of them would vote for a potato over any Democrat just so they can "save the country." Any Republican candidate has a very good chance of success in the next Presidential election.

Even if Dems maintain the popular vote edge, gerrymandering and the new wave of Trump-friendly state officials will make it tough for them to win.

A new report from CNN's Oliver Darcy claims Fox Corporation CEO Lachlan Murdoch believes former President Donald Trump is bad for the country, but keeps Fox News in his corner to avoid alienating viewers.
With Trump said to be mulling launching a third White House bid, Darcy claims Murdoch is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I'll bet the FBI is in on it too!
They knew FOX needed to change the narrative away from all of Biden's recent success' so they concocted this lame "National security" issue because they knew that a judge would fall for that nonsense and blindly issue a warrant without thinking it through.

DEFUND THE FBI!
