I get the shot every fall and every five years or so I still get it, except very mild and sort duration, and no hospital visit. You can't explain that! Liberal vax hoax Bill gates!

Less "replaced" and more "added"

So that's simultaneous outbreaks of COVID, flu, and Monkeypox with a little polio sprinkled into a few places.

Neat.

Check those shot records and get your vaccines ASAP, everybody

Here naive refers to immune systems lack of knowledge about a disease. As in the population haven't had this strain recently or at all and so they could be particularly susceptible.

Flu shots reduce that naivete, for example, by prepping immune systems.

Now that the Trumpers have all decided that they are anti-vax on religious grounds, most of them have probably naturally taken the next illogical step to decide they are anti-vax against all vaccines.  Hopefully the Flu can get Covid like numbers among elderly Republicans in Red states.  I still feel really bad about children and people with compromised immunities and hope we can find a way to keep them safe.

kdawg7736: Get your flu shot in the fall, people.

Chances are that the COVID vaccine will just be added to the shot.  It's what they did in the past with Avian Flu/Swine Flu, etc.  At least then, it will actually provide real protection from something.

Just another reason I don't get why people hate masks in public so much. They protect against more than just covid becsuse people are gross.

But I guess stigginit is more important than not wanting to get sick

Believe it or not, most people barely notice when they get the flu.  So people don't really care about preventing it.  Getting sick is part of life.  It has nothing to do with stigginit.

Typically around September yes. It often has a low adoption rate which is more what the article is trying to change.

Yes, even for 'just the flu' you need to get vaccinated.

Finally. But almost every job I had before didn't.

Apparently stigginit is more important to some people than their children, food, air, safety, actual freedom, happiness, etc..  It burns them to their core that  anyone, anywhere, is happy doing something that they disapprove of, and they will endure any pain, any misery to stop that happiness from happening.

Wait until September for your flu shot so it should hopefully last the whole season. No, you can't get one now and one toward the end of the season.

No, Walgreens does not have the monkey pox vaccine.

Since I started masking (March 2020) I have not even gotten a slight cold. Nada...zip. I've never been healthier (well, except for being overweight and having shiatty arthritic knees). Why people don't just keep masking and practicing common sense health practices, I can't fathom (I know "My freedums!").

I love that I haven't had any respiratory illnesses in three years. I used to get spring and fall colds (that became bronchial infections) but since I started masking, nothing. Why the ever-loving fark would I stop, esp. during flu season?

Same here!  I might wear a mask for the rest of my life!  No colds, no flu, no covid.  It has been great.  And really helps with the allergies too.  And I used to get pneumonia every winter, got a pneumonia vaccine about 5 years ago, haven't had it since.

I just got the shingles vaccine too.  I guess everyone who had chicken pox as a kid can get shingles as an adult.  I have had a minor case before and it is horribly painful.  My Mom, who never had it, got it in her 80s and had it all over her body, inside her mouth and throat, on the inside of her eyelids, scalp, back, arms, legs, it was gruesome.

I will take any vaccine they put out once it has been out for about a year so I know it doesn't cause cancer or something stupid.

Congrats on being an outlier. Data shows the average person gets 2-4 colds a year and the flu once every 5 years

As a former server I can assure you retail and service jobs meant working sick, sometimes very, because we didn't get paid otherwise, couldnt afford to miss any income, and management didn't care

Back in college I got a particularly nasty strain of the flu. The chills from the fever were so intense I was literally wearing five layers of clothing and huddled under a thick blanket and even with that still felt freezing. My Dad had to pick me up from my apartment to take me to Patient First. After I saw the doctor I was walking back to the front of the facility and got hit with an overwhelming hot flash and dizziness (I assume from the five layers of clothing when it wasn't actually cold) and half fell into the wall and peed myself but somehow recovered enough to not pass out.

I get my flu shot every year now.
