You would too, if you were New York's nut sack.

Just be happy NJ you don't have Dr Oz anymore. MN still has Mike Lindell. Aren't they suffering enough?

I think part of that is Manhattanites constantly overlooking them, as if NJ is just a brief traffic/metro area between NYC and the rest of the country.

For example, you tell a Manhattanite that you'd rather live where it's green and you can see the Pleiades, and they'll tell you "we can do that whenever we want, we're right next to the Delaware water gap."  The Delaware water gap on the other side of NJ.

Or you have the train of cars going from NYC to the Poconos every summer weekend.  Or the NY cops that hang out in PA fireworks stores looking for NY plates.  It all contributes to this sense that nobody is noticing that your state is even there.

New Jersey Yankees?  I don't think so.

Don't blame us for those two dickheads; I mean, just to start with, who even THINKS about Minnesota? Outside Minnesota, that is. Seems like a couple of tyros with half a thought between them are trying to be funny and clever.

Don't worry, America - we'll beat 'em up, give 'em a wedgie, and take their lunch money.

You say that like it's a bad thing? Have you had a look at our turnpike neighbors?

We get to suck entertainment and culture from the Preeminent east coast cities, then get home and not get overly murdered, raped, beaten or burgled while we leave the doors unlocked. Who needs the attention?

Correct.  They can claim the New Jersey Giants / New Jersey Jets though, if they really want.

They must be pretty full of themselves to think that everybody hates them.

I agree with you completely, though I don't think a crime map centered on Camden is going to hammer that point home.

I lived in NJ for 6 years and I was amazed at how green and remote much of it is, despite its proximity to one of the world's largest metro areas.  When finding directions on a map I had to budget extra time to account for all the skinny country roads between points A and B.  I know a guy who lives in Hewitt NJ, only 40 miles from Manhattan, but he may as well be in the Adirondacks.

Also, it's not just other states that weirdly ignore NJ.  The northern half of NJ weirdly ignores the southern half.  With the exception of Atlantic city, anything south of 95/295 is just missing from everyone's awareness.

It's NYC vs. Philly orientation.  So yes, the northern half and the southern half have little to do with each other on a day to day basis.

North of Trenton, and the I-195 corridor across the state, everything is focused on NYC.

South of that, the focus starts to shift to Philly.

The crossover point along the shore line is a little farther south of where I-195 hits the Parkway - Toms River still thinks NYC - but south of that, mostly Philly.

AC is a bit of both, but still more Philly focused media wise than NY.

Rutherford I see.  Worked for years in the Meadowlands complex where Medieval Times is.  Colonial Diner was a regular spot.  First time I asked for pork roll the looked at me funny.  I had to grit my teeth and ask for the wrong thing every time.

I know the Colonial well, but I'm in Pal Park as of a couple of months ago. More Galbi and Bulgogi than pork roll.

Pretty low bar you're setting there New Jersey.  Was a lukewarm bucket of walrus vomit already taken?
