Hey, Chuck... I think it's time to go back to Dairy Queen for some more "you know what"

He can't remember what he had for breakfast.

Evil and farked up

Of course he says he voted for those things that are incredibly important to his constituents.

What, you expect him to tell the truth?  Might loose an election that way.

2022-08-08 11:06:42 AM
Just like the infrastructure bill.  Every republicant voted against it, but then took credit when the money came through.

I know right, he's like a cow shiat golem.

2022-08-08 3:04:43 PM
They take credit for shiat they vote against all the time. That's why it's time to attach their votes to consequences... like their constituents don't get money or some benefit that is widely publicized.

When it starts costing them, and the corporations they represent, money you'd better believe they will stop protest voting.

2022-08-08 3:05:07 PM
His constituents are either too stupid or too far into the cult to care what he says or how he votes, just as long as there's a lib getting stug.

2022-08-08 3:06:28 PM
1) His supporters will believe whatever he says.
2) His supporters ultimately don't care because they want republicans to take over by force and rule as authoritarian dictators.

2022-08-08 3:07:12 PM
shiat should be illegal.  You shouldn't be allowed to flat lie if you occupy office, it should fall under perjury or some shiat.

If he actually cared, he could just propose a standalone bill and get 9 of his colleagues to support it. I'm sure the Dems would back it.

2022-08-08 3:07:25 PM
If I were Chuck Schumer I would go on TV and tear into him Jon Stewart PACT Act style.

"This old bastard is a liar and wants you to die, just like every other member of his death cult treason party. He will be fine, and neither he nor the GOP as a whole give a shiat what happens to you or your family. Never forget this."

But that's just me, I'm not a leader so I don't understand the nuances of civility.

So the Republican strategy to take back Congress is to:

Ban abortion in half the country.
Ban LGBTQ people; they don't exist and they don't have rights.
Vote against lowering Medicare Rx prices.
Vote against taxing large corporations.
Vote against capping insulin.

I can see this maybe picking up some House seats but the Senate?

That would require leadership interested in opposing the fascist Republican party, but all the people currently running the Democratic Party are dead-set on collaborating with them instead.

The idiots who vote them in vote for anything with an "R" next to its name.
They probably don't even look at the name.
As long as it's not "demoncrap" it gets their vote, no matter how it treats them.
Plus they don't even believe their beloved treats them bad.

For the record, so you know when arguing these things, the GQP put up a phony insulin cost reduction amendment ahead of the legitimate one as a sort of smoke screen.

So you'll be hearing them use that to claim they tried to do something in a [insert phony adjective] way.
You can find these roll call votes here. https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/vote_menu_117_2.htm

what percent of the population actually needs insulin to live? 2-3%.  I think we can accept those losses.

Then you find yourself, with regards to "midwest values," in much the same position as the Log Cabin Republicans find themselves with regards to the Republican Party.

To wit: You are not welcome in or supported by the institutions you slavishly defend.

Oh I get that, but remember how many people turned out so that they could make sure TFG didn't get a second term?

This time abortion is on the ballot.
Voting rights is on the ballot.
LBGTQ rights are on the ballot.
Not dying because you can't afford insulin is on the ballot.

Surely some of these have to be important to the independent voters the way getting rid of TFG was?

88 years old.  Who's voting for 88 year olds?  Who does he represent?

2022-08-08 3:31:01 PM
I remember back when I was a teenager, and sure everyone knew they are all politicians. We expected them to stretch the truth. To spin things one way or another. To cherry pick facts.

But believe it or not, there was a time (and not even one tremendously long ago) that it was almost unheard of for even Republicans to just straight flat lie about facts as basic as what they voted for.

He represents people who only for for the (R) by his name to stick it to the libs. That's who votes for him. Oh, and the 'farmers'. Basically all of rural Iowa votes for him.

It still blows my mind that the state that gave us Tom Harken elected Ernst.

I used to think: What the hell happened to Iowa? Then I included Wisc., then Missoury, then Florida,
And now I'm starting to realize that enough of the country has gone dog schit insane that the entire country is being threatened, and it really all at the hands of the Koch's, the Uhlines, the Bradley Bros, the Princes/Vos's/ Peter Thiel, the Overstock Guty, the My Pillow guy..... and I realize the Super Rich are a real and present danger to America , and it's so called Democracy.ALL  he relative Good in US history will be rendered complete irrelevant if these assholes get their way

To be fair, at Grassley's age he's much more likely to remember what he did in 1887 than in the last week or so. He's reportedly shocked each time he sees a flying-machine in the sky or a picture show with sound/talking too.

And that is why we need a progressive tax system that has marginal tax rates for liquid assets of 99% over $400,000 annual.

It's sad. No wonder 'brain drain' is a reality for this state. Once first in the nation for education....welp, that went down the drain. Let's just go on a roast and ride with Joni and ride Chuck's combine. All is fine!!!

I admire you for your sense of hope and a belief in the American people. All 4 of those things are important issues. LIFE issues. Issues that would improve the lives of hundreds of millions of americans overall. 60% of republican voters would likely benefit in some way from some of these (medicare, insulin).

But, they are just not listening. None of them are. Their ears have been clogged for 25 years with moronic rhetoric and they just cannot possibly see any reason to vote for a Democrat. Especially when the EASY things to understand for them are being placed into the forefront. You know, simple "truths", things easy to understand and relate to like:

45+ year old white person, are you racist? Why no, I am not.
Democrats think you are and are teaching your kids to hate themselves. vote for us.

Hey, do you think children should be encouraged to be gay at age 5? What, no that is crazy.
Democrats are trying to convert people at the age of 5 to be gay and transgender. Vote for us.

Do you think it is wrong for 5 girls to train their lives to swim and then a boy can come in at the last minute and beat them all and win? No, that is not right.
Well that is what dems are doing, so vote for us.

Do you fear all the crime and violence? Yeah, it is a crazy world. Why I just heard about a murder happening every 12 seconds.
Dems want more people who commit crimes to walk free, and they encourage them to come in from other countries to rape your daughter. Vote for us.

Do you like having your stuff? Yes, I worked all my life for this, cannot wait to retire and...
Dems are gonna take all that away and give it to immigrants, and drug users, and lazy people. Vote for us.
