You ruined it - I was picturing some superhero dude jumping in front of cars about to hit dogs, or an itinerant vet roaming the country looking for dogs that need help.  Not nearly as interesting now ;p

Well, great, now a bunch of idiots are going to want Carolina Dogs and they'll be filling up the shelters and being bred in puppy mills etc

Carolinas are great if you spend the effort on them but they're more like coyotes than dogs

Here is my Miss Luna..
Rescued from a neglect situation.. she spent the first 9 months of her life tied to a tree.
High energy, very intelligent,( like creepy smart) a little aloof.
Very pack oriented and loyal.
And she's like a the perpetually rambunctious five year old Daughter ill never be able to have.

she is absolutely.. Daddy's little girl.

Absolutely not for everyone, and I sharw your fears.
But I appreciate the authenticity of using one in the film.

I'm sure you're being facetious, but girl dogs are typically used in film and television because you dont have to worry about the camera catching a bunch of doggy dingus.

In the case of Lassie, they used boy dogs for a girl dog character because the male collies have a more pronounced mane.

I just watched it earlier today. It was good I guess. Too many animals dying. Not the dog, I never thought the dog would get it. It was more like the original Predator, Man (woman) vs Beast. Nothing revolutionary about it but it was executed well, that's all that matters.

The gun at the end, was it the one in Predator 2?

Predator hunting Samurai with Ninjas would be perfect. Set it during feudal Japan where clans are all vying from control and think their enemies are slaughtering them when it is a Predator. Rival clans are in the midst of a huge fight and get separated with their entire families wiped out so they reluctantly have to work together to kill the Predator. This provides for a ton of action between humans and interactions between the Predator.

Prey was WAY overhyped in my opinion. It is worth it to kill the time but not worth rewatching ever. Nothing really memorable and the idea that the main character is scared for 90% of the movie and weak is annoying. Loved when they finally introduced the trappers. There is an entire hour of the film easily that could be scrapped and redone though. What made Predator and Predator 2 to a lesser extent, so good was the fact that you had an entire movie without the Predator. The Predator added a wrench which made things more interesting. The other films, even Prey, there is no conflict or movie without the Predator. This is the fundamental lame factor.

A good friend of mine had a Carolina Dog and she was an absolute badass. Whenever she would get a raccoon or a possum, she would parade it up and down the driveway just to let all the other critters know what she was capable of. Her absolute favorite thing in the world was to catch a snake and shake it until it stopped moving.

Luna's big thing is flailing her toys.
Earlier in the year I had an emergency appendectomy.   While i was recovering, she took that opportunity to actually catch a squirrel..
My elderly mother and my wife could only watch In wonder as she ran around with the carcass.. flailing it around till the joints were giving out and flying off it..
My damn mother still gives me shiat for not picking myself up out of my sick bed to fix the situation..

My mother is a bit of a coont

I thought, when I saw the trap scene, that the tail would have to be lopped off. Then later the Predator would wind up ripping the ears off. And thereby the movie would explain why people got the idea to crop the ears and dock the tails of dogs because this dog with be a short eared, short tailed badass at the end of the movie.

Everyone in my neighborhood know Candy. She is the local therapist. Her Rolodex is larger than mine.

She has dug more holes in the yard than I can track. She has removed the bottom third out our hedges. She loves birds the way Lenny loved rabbits and, sadly, with the same result.

She thinks everyone is awesome, even the ones she has not met.
