Republicans entire platform is that government is broken. Of course they have to break it to prove that they're correct. This shouldn't surprise anyone.

The American government is so damned complicated and bureaucratic, I'm amazed that anything gets done.

Is it too much to ask to not have an inept government?
Having brain-dead gullible idiots as a majority in this country is a serious issue that needs addressing.

Well, yes, it's kind of a key point... to be the democratic nominee one should be.. you know, a Democrat. Minor detail. I get it. Such sticklers

Dear moronmitter, there is a temporary chair in there, it isn't vacant.

You speak as if inflation isn't happening, Republicans are nazis, but government is also broken, government is broken because it is completely controlled by multinational business... Bottom line is all that matters is bottom line

My mom hates Republicans but votes for this asshole every time "to keep our legislature in check" and I am begging her not to vote for him this year because when Bernie or Leahy dies in office (and one or both of them absolutely will), this guy will be under enormous pressure to use the hard power of the office to replace them with a Republican and flip the senate. There is zero downside to doing this. His party will burn him down if he doesn't, and lionize him if he does. There are zero issues they will face in that state that would come remotely close to being as important as this but she will probably do it anyway because everyone in that state is a farking moron when it comes to politics.

And why is government controlled by corporations? Could it have something to do with the Republican majority SCOTUS that decided that unlimited dark money bribes were A-OK because something something freedom of speech?

Democrats are a standard political party, for good and for ill. The GQP is a cancer that needs to be cut out of our government before it kills the farking country.

Screw it. They were this close to getting it but fell into the BSAB trap.

Normally I'd agree, but in this guy's case?  He's been a good governor.  This may be an election tactic, but it seems out of character.

Never trust a Pol who has been successful by taking a "Customer is always right" subservient tone, while in fact being an unabashed Republican. I know a lot of contractors/ builders/ carpenters, who have a quiet dignity, but never would  use that tone of voice that Phil Scott has.
It really pisses me off because it signals an acceptance of the whole class system that somehow passes in Britain, but here in the US generally looked at with contempt....except by people like Scott.
Chris Sununu and Charley Baker, both New England GOP governors don't fall for that kind of soft serve classism that is Stock in Trade for Phil Scott.
