Turn some Taco Bells around in the other direction so people gas out against the spin. That should fix things right up but don't over do it or we might stop completely.

Faster jet stream (or would that be the wrong direction?)
Snow-free mountain tops meaning high-altitude ice is now low-altitude water

Not sure how years would be that affected

Years would be affected by the positions of the other planets pulling on the Earth.

I don't know why other planet's positions would be affected by global warming, but I realized after my snarky comment that it's day length that affects leap seconds, not year length.  (As it's to keep the day length aligned with when solar noon is)

Year length would affect leap days, which affects when the solstice & equinoxes are

So I guess leap seconds *could* be affected by global warming.

And if those asshole computer companies continue to biatch about leap seconds because they're difficult, then use TAI, not UTC

You know the thing about the spinning ice skater putting out her arms slows her spin you see on all those space docs. Only think I can really think of as far as GW. More likely a mass moved in the mantle of the Earth.

Heating the atmosphere would increase its size, which would slow Earth's rotation.  But yes, it's usually earthquakes that speed up Earth's rotation when they settle more rock.  The Japanese quake that led to Fukushima Daiichi's meltdown had a measurable increase on Earth's rotation when it happened.

I agree. Earth's atmosphere is much thinner around the earth, than human skin is around a person comparatively. Earth barely has an atmosphere at all for it's size.
