Remember when you were alone in your cell?
That's when you heard all of your rights under Putin's law.

I wonder how you could find out if weed is legal in Russia? Somebody should invent something where you could search for that.

No idea, maybe when she was looking for that she could've looked up the State Department advisories against traveling there that were posted several months before she visited.

We just got rid of Miranda protections here, I can't imagine Russians ever had any expectation of police announcing their rights.

It is a valid point.

There are a lot of places you don't want to bring drugs along with you. Most of the Middle East, parts of Asia and Africa, and of course Russia. If you have to go to Russia don't do anything that will get you noticed.

It's not a deal yet. It is a proposal. Not a deal until every i is dotted, t crossed and all parties are over their respective country's airspace.

There's probably nothing more going on upstairs there than there is with most chicks called Britney. So I'd say yes, it was incorrect.

Viktor Bout isn't exactly a saint either. We get back our alleged criminal being held in a Russian prison and a WNBA star, they get back the Lord of War.

That's a good looking truck. I would 100% not trade that truck for Britney Greiner.

Then she whined that if she was LeBron she would already be home.   LeBron tweeted back saying, basically, leave my name out of it and there's a reason I'm not over there in the first place.    Don't play in Russia.   If ou do, don't break the law there.  If you do, chalk it up to experience and don't whine and cry about it.

This is the Russian version of Miranda...

You have the to go to the gulag.  Anything you say can and will be used against you to send you to the gulag.  You have no rights to an attorney unless we feel generous.  Even foreigners who think they are entitled to consulate contact via the Vienna convention will get it when we decide you are ready for it.  Do you understand these rights, I don't care if you do and we can change them at any moment.

The justice dept was opposed to the prisoner swap. Biden forced their hand. Im sure someone will submit the cnn article about it.

From CNN: Biden officials had been concerned the decision to swap Reed for Yaroshenko would be criticized by Republicans. Instead, it won bipartisan praise, including from a handful of Republicans who are normally sharp critics of the administration.

"They like us! The Republicans like us! Quick! Do something incredibly stupid to appease them"

And when this guy takes up where he left off and gets a bunch of Ukrainians or others murdered, The GOP will eviscerate Biden for releasing him."

How does this fit into "The Narrative"?

Griner is being illegally detained specifically as a bargaining chip, and that's shiatty. She's also a person with a spotty record who again put herself in a bad situation. Both things can be true.

Illegally detained, no. She was designated wrongfully detained by the US after internal pressure.

"During the trial, Russian prosecutors showed that when Griner was arrested she was in possession of a "significant amount" of Cannabis Oil in the form of 100+ vape cartridges."

In no way was she illegally detained.

According to?

She's acknowledged that she was in possession of illegal items.

That's not being "illegally detained." That's the very definition of legally detained.

This is why you don't go to Russia, why you don't take drugs to other countries and why you don't break the laws of other countries while there.  You may be detailed, or caned, or worse.

If we caught a Russian national with illegal drugs in our country nobody would be saying they were "illegally detained."

Well how am I, as a proud American, supposed to bring our greatest gift to the land of Communism, if I don't rock my Levi's 501 jeans? Russians love Levi's. It's like Germans and bukakke. Or Thais and child sex workers.

Some things are just woven into the national fabric.

Answer me that, SIR!!!

But if some Saudi's fly planes into buildings, we usher their family back home to safety.

As with anything here, it depends on who ya know and how much money ya got...

LOL, if Greiner played in the NBA she'd get paid too. Welcome to the world of everyone not in the NBA. At least you get paid to play ball, which is a better deal than most people get. I'm not gonna cry a farking river because it won't make you  wealthy.
