People used to ask me how I read books and walked without running into anything.  A combination of paying attention to my peripheral vision and ears.

I watched someone "exercising their brain" all the way into traffic at a busy intersection last week, so I'm going to have to suggest that whatever benefits texting while walking may have they should be tempered with situational awareness.

I read books, on my kindle, while walking. They say we need to get more exercise to stay healthy but walking is so farking boring, so I read.
