I dislike portmanteau in general. The ones that get me most are things like "liger".  If they're smart enough to figure out how to get a lion and tiger to mix, they can spend some time to come up with a decent word.

I mean, our ancestors didn't get all lazy like that and call mules "dorses" or hinnies "honkeys".
