I'd love to throw in some Pennsyltucky jokes having personal experience with the state and all, but between Fetterman and McClinton, it looks like there are some real good eggs there.  So I will just wish the good guys luck.

This is the correct way to deal with Republicans in today's political climate. Don't engage them. Don't try to out-debate them. Neither they nor their voters are interested in reason or logical anyway; it's not what they're running on and it's not the source of their support.

Just mock them. Mercilessly mock them. Troll them. Emasculate them. Expose them for the absurdly stupid cowards that they are.

"In the absence of an affirmative agenda the party can agree on, the Democratic establishment needs something to inspire voters to show up, and fear of Republicans - and Trump - fits the bill.

For the newcomers, this is completely foreign. To them, Republicans shouldn't be feared, they should be beaten. Ocasio-Cortez told me that she treats Republicans like buffoons because that's how they've behaved for as long as she can remember. 'Even before I was of voting age, I saw Republicans accuse the Obamas of doing a 'terrorist fist bump,' so they've been clowns since I was a teen,' she said."

There's nothing wrong with populism in itself. Obama won in 2008 with a populist campaign.

Democrats have tried the high road. It didn't work.

The other side has no honor, no decency, no empathy, and not a shred of fairness. They've proven time and time again that mud slinging, lowest common denominator, brazen yelling and empty bravado wins votes as long as your voice is the loudest. They show that they are fine shredding the Constitution, human decency, the American Dream, and the sacrifice of previous generations just to make another buck, or grab a little more power. How do you fight fair against that and expect to win?

So the Democrats are going one better - bringing some bright, fiery, dedicated people who are also not afraid of getting down and dirty. And it's about time too. Stop speaking softly, whip out the big stick.

Every word of that paragraph speaks encyclopedias to your ignorance of how people southeastern PA go on vacation.

There is nothing to do in southeastern PA besides melt, sweat, and open fire hydrants.

Some of them go to Hershey Park. The rest go to the shore and rent homes, hotel rooms, and trailers.

The ones who don't, who have central air, read Twitter.
