But will other countries catch on to this?

This seems like a dumb idea to me at this point, but who knows, this might end up saving the sport after enough players' brains get turned to mush and nobody wants to sign their kids up for that anymore.

Could be.  We put my 6 year-old in flag football camp this year.  There's no way we're letting him play actual football at this age.  They outlawed heading in his soccer league.  I think they're not allowed to head until they're 12.

This is just a personal anecdote, but it looks like all the upper-middle class kids are going into lacrosse now as a substitute for football.  It has the size, speed, and athleticism of football without the brain damage.

My friend's kid is one.  I saw him on the 4th.  He's about 6 foot tall and he's only 14.  His dad was a QB in high school, but his mom is like "Nope, no football."

I'd be surprised if lacrosse didn't also have high brain damage potential. Body checks seem like they could jerk the head and neck enough to do not great things.

If the goofy horse dancing thing is a sport, why not flag football?

Didn't they just get rid of women's softball (because the US and Canadians owned it)

Can the 100-meter sack race be an event as well? Maybe cornhole?
