There will be some quality players that go undrafted because they're unable to get out of russia.

Russian men have to do a year of military/national service before they turn 27.  How many NHL'ers from Russia,
a) returned to Russia after their season ended?
b) are under 27 years of age?
c) have not done their 'year of service' yet?

I'm betting there will be a few holes in NHL rosters come the fall....

I think it's more of a intimidation tactic from Russia. Its a good thing the Stanley cup wont be going to Russia this summer, it may get kidnapped.

Russian players need to bring their whole family w/ them when they emigrate or else they're setting themselves up for extortion or worse. They want cash from Fedotov & either he didn't pay enough before or the greedy powers that be wanted more than they got.
