Good: guaranteeing that workers won't be left destitute in retirement

Bad: letting CEOs off the hook for reneging on their contracts with workers

I hope this is more the former when historically it's been the latter

I have a pretty decent pension because I am a public employee. The down side is that my salary has always been far less than I could have made in the private sector. Now that I'm getting close to retirement I think I did okay.

Yeah, I'm sure the Democrats are going to get right on that.

I don't know what's worse, that they continually lie about wanting to help unions or that so many of you still believe that they aren't corporate whores that will do anything that the American Oligarchs tell them to.

No more earnings cap for the FICA tax
No more "borrowing" from the trust fund.

WHAT THE FORK IS A PENSION?

Pen
1.
an instrument for writing or drawing with ink, typically consisting of a metal nib or ball, or a nylon tip, fitted into a metal or plastic holder.
2.
ZOOLOGY
the tapering cartilaginous internal shell of a squid.

Zion singular proper noun: Sion
1.
the hill of Jerusalem on which the city of David was built.
the citadel of ancient Jerusalem.
Jerusalem.
the Jewish people or religion.
noun: Zion; noun: Sion
2.
(in Christian thought) the heavenly city or kingdom of heaven.
the Christian Church.
(among Rastafarians) Africa.

So, armed with the knowledge presented above a pension is: a "writing instrument" + earth mound = pen + hill = pencil, a heavenly writing instrument (e.g., Parker, Zebra), a mound of seafood bones, or seafood that is so good it will change your religion.

For a 4th language, I question all interpretations.

He needs to be hammering it every single time he's in front of a camera.  Making the midterms a referendum on choice is the only thing that's going to save em.

Especially when he's visiting a forced birth state and can be speaking directly to the people suffering right now.

I cannot tell you how annoyed I am that, back in 2020, we were on the cusp of social reordering where workers were starting to realize their value post-pandemic. We're democrats so inclined, they could've easily taken over Republican's populist image by backing labor movements... But for whatever reason*cough*they didn't want to*cough* they dropped the ball and completely ignored the opportunity.

Now, the opportunity's gone. Class warfare has been waged again, and again, we lost to capitalist interests.

What's even worse are progressive candidates who know they're corporate whores yet still waste time running in their primaries instead of promoting third party viability.

2022-07-06 10:41:48 PM
They'd rig the primary vote so he wouldn't win. They did it in West Virginia where he beat Clinton by a significant margin. Then the superdelegates all voted for Clinton and she won the state, although by all there was one superdelegate that said that he would respect the voters of his state and vote for Sanders and Manchin got him kicked out and replaced with someone who would vote for Clinton. This is what we're all up in arms about with state legislatures trying to get power to ignore the voters and send their own electors. Turns out they are just copying the DNC from the primaries. People tell you to vote but why bother if the party is just going to disregard it and claim that your state was wrong and decide to award your votes to a candidate that your state has shown to detest.

The DNC loses because they don't respect the will of the people that vote for them. They're doing nothing for unions and in fact are hurting them. They won't do shiat about Roe, gay marriage or voting rights. Pelosi went and campaigned for a anti abortion corporate Democrat that was in a close primary race with a progressive. That should tell you everything about their values. They didn't stay neutral, they went out and campaigned for someone whose stance is something they claim to abhor and are begging us to give them money to fight against. To them that candidate was so much more preferable than a progressive who actually represents what they claim to stand for and that alone should tell you what the DNC truly stands for.

Did you know that someone can evolve their opinions as they learn more about a subject and aren't forced to have the same view of the world that they had almost twenty years ago?
I mean, if you're not a conservative.

No one is "screwing over pensioners." The shortfalls in multi-employer plans are structural and the result of many factors, including:
1. Past returns on investments that were above projections, resulting in contribution holidays and reductions in contributions
2. Declining participation in the plans, meaning new employees aren't subsidizing retired employees

It's a 40-year long condition where you hope like hell the company you work for stays solvent and doesn't liquidate your retirement before fleeing the country to a tropical paradise.

He's on the right side of history until he ran as a third-party spoiler against both Hillary and Biden, ran for President only for his own ego, and stole all of his campaign donations. Also, just because someone has been rather consistent about being on the right side of history doesn't mean that the rest of the country thinks he is. What really matters is what the country thinks about somebody, regardless of whether or not those thoughts are factual or accurate, especially when there's people within the Democratic Party who just make shiat up about him because he has no policies they can really attack him on without being seen as an asshole. Even if there's blatant misinformation being spread about him from his own allies, it's still nobody's fault but his own that that information is being spread because he's just a filthy conniving independent.
