I'm convinced he has OCD - his pre-serve "routine" aka tics, drives me nuts. And the way he lines up his water bottles - it's just not normal. But, the guy is a phenomenal tennis player.

For the first time in several decades, Rafael Nadal is forcing me to have serious doubts about who is the G.O.A.T.  And I'm a huge Roger Federer fan.

I'd never seriously considered Nadal for GOAT - #2 or 3 certainly, but I felt he needed a little more to distinguish himself given that his success is so heavily weighted towards one surface. the lack of an ATP Finals title is also a glaring omission. but damn if he isn't making a hell of a case for it.

I wonder what it's like in a parallel universe where there are as many grass tournaments as clay...

Federer is the greatest natural tennis player in my lifetime... hands down. Nadal is my favorite player... Joker is amazing but I hate his guts so I am totally biased in trying to rank him.

Federer/Nadal/Joker

But the way Nadal is playing this year? HOLY SH*T!!!

If you told me, if ANYONE told me he'd play like this after last year I would call them a liar to their face.

/I will admit though, I bet Fritz -1.5 sets (Win 3-0 or 3-1) and he freaking had the chances to do it and Nadal was at FULL Nadal on every crucial point. I have never been happier losing money. I love watching him...
//But, alas, I have a hard time seeing him get past Nick unless... unless nick beats himself which is a 50/50 chance.
///It would just be too much to ask to get Joker/Nadal in the Final.

Nadal could've been a pro soccer player and I'm sure just as successful there. Joke's Gumby flexibility and reach would have served him well in a number of other sports. Federer, on the other hand, was born holding a tennis racket.

Joke may crush Norrie under his heel or have one of his trademark come-from-behind wins, but I'll be shocked if he loses. Kyrigos is highly motivated against Nadal, though for him that can be a hindrance just as easily as an asset, and Rafa can never be counted out even if he's in traction before the match.

it's been such a strange tournament with several top players missing, and the only thing surprising about Ruud as the #3 seed is he lost in R64 instead of R128, and now Kyrigos is in the SF. no idea who will win outside of not-Norrie.

Well it appears he is mortal after all.

So now we got Nick farking Kyrgios in the Final. Against probably Djokovic.

I'm not gonna watch.
