Just drop the ampersand. "Ben Jerry's" is a name that would actually make sense in Israel.

uhhh

'Ben & Jerry's had said last year it would stop sales in the West Bank territory occupied by Israel. "

just say'n, to deny the people who do live there your products until the occupiers leave is a little fooked up by my POV.
if you wanna make a real statement, then keep selling there, but refuse to sell to any occupiers, only do business with who you recognize as the legitimate locals.

To reject 100% of everyone, is to punish those who do not deserve it, along with those you wish to influecne.
And that don't look right to me at all.

Actually, that's exactly what they bought. Read up on the capital markets next time, hippies.

FTFA: "In a statement, Unilever said that "the deal has already closed" and that it does not comment on pending litigation. A Ben & Jerry's representative did not respond to a request for comment."

It's over.  Unilever might have given social branding rights to an independant board, but they didn't gibve away their right to sell the business piecemeal, which they are doing just to get around that part of their contract.  Oh well, guess you shouldna sold to a GIANT FARKING MULTINATIONAL if you wanted to stay socially relevant.

They have the leverage to make unilateral decisions. It's in the name.

They aren't denying Palestinians Ben and Jerry's, they are denying Israel occupiers and colonists who are living on stolen land the ability to go to their supermarkets, built on and run on stolen land, and to buy the product.

And every Israeli living on that land past the 1967 borders is a colonist and profiting from Israeli land theft.

Whatever you think of the rights and wrongs leading up to the Israeli occupation, the placement of settlements, factories, and more on land captured then is de facto annexation.

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield are both clearly anti-Semites.

What gets bought in those settlements needs that little mark saying it's kosher enough.   Choosing the wrong hechsher, from the wrong council of rabbis, could have the same effect as a boycott.

They both stole, give it back to the Ottoman.

Ben n Jerry's is "synonymous with social activism??"  Not when you sell out to Unilever, one the most historically evil corporations.  The Lever brothers raped the hell out of Africa.

Either Ben n Jerry are full of bs or they are stupendous  ignoramuses.

There is also the third, and IMO, most likely option:  full of bs and they are stupendous  ignoramuses.

See for example, their attempt to blame Biden for Russia invading Ukraine, while displaying a level of ignorance of international relations and strategy that would get you laughed out of a junior high class.

"You can not simultaneously prevent and prepare for war"

My hundred of hours in Stellaris says I can Ben and Jerry. Oh no, the dirty aliens are threatening me to be a vassal. Orders more corvettes.
