What started as 2 as of yesterday, has ballooned to 30 resignations.

Buh-bye BoJo.

2022-07-06 12:03:54 PM
Is there a mechanism to actually kick him out?

He survived a recent no confidence vote, right? Would they call another? Does that even do anything?

2022-07-06 12:04:47 PM
I must confess I have not been following closely and I know he is a douche, but is this all fallout from having a party during covid?

Because in the US we have a former president that incite riots and tries to overthrow the government and we can't get rid of him.

2022-07-06 12:05:07 PM
Who are the likely replacements?
Are they all as strong in supporting Ukraine as Boris is now?

2022-07-06 12:05:27 PM
At this point, leave him in there hobbled AF. Let the Tories bleed out with him.

2022-07-06 12:05:38 PM
Please don't resign Boris.  I want to see the Queen whip you with a cane to get you out.

Now Michael Gove has joined the list of cabinet members recommending that  Boris go.  That's huge.  Can't see him surviving the week now.

2022-07-06 12:07:16 PM
The egregiousness with which Johnson and the Tories flaunted their immunity from the law was beyond galling.

Please spread to the US.

Hair today, gone tomorrow.

I image he'll just make fart noises while they lecture him and then go for his afternoon tea.

2022-07-06 12:07:50 PM
As Boris said, he will be PM into the 2030s.

I think it only counts if the Queen sees her shadow. British politics are weird.

That.  Plus lots of lying in general.  And recently appointing a sexual molester to a top post.

Johnson's Lies May Get More Extreme As the End Nears

Yeah he posted a new video a few hours ago, but this is highlights why Johnson is hanging on and promising ridiculous shiat.

We did get rid of him. That's why he's the former President.

2022-07-06 12:08:45 PM
No, it's not. He's going to pout and fight to not have to leave his cushy job. The Queen will have to appoint a new PM and have him hauled out of Downing Street.

2022-07-06 12:08:52 PM
We're going to tell him to resign.

Boris: Yeah, i don't feel like it.

Everyone else: Well, i guess we tried. Nothing we can do here.

Now I'm not sure he should resign.  If Gove said the sky was blue, I'd need independent corroboration from six different sources.

If all his ministers resign, he has no Government. There is probably some protocol, but it won't be called.

The latest scandal is that he approved someone who'd been rumored to have committed sexual assaults (and who recently admitted to doing it again) to a high government position.  Seeing as the Tories have faced several similar scandals recently--in fact both of the recent by-elections were triggered by Tory MPs resigning over sexual misconduct--it's not going over well.

Foghorn of Ignorance: As Boris said, he will be PM into the 2030s.

Maybe 2030 GMT tonight, he meant.

2022-07-06 12:10:47 PM
The Tories will just pretend they never supported Johnson in the first place and that they always supported his replacement.

Sadly we cannot do a family guy style cut away gag showing all the times they did support Johnson

2022-07-06 12:10:47 PM
I can only hope, that one who's chosen to replace him, hasn't been compromised by the ruscists. This would be a bad time for some Tory with deep Moscow pockets to start trying to break up NATO /Ukrainian support.

They can't call another vote of confidence without a rule change. But, if he refuse to resign, they could change the rules pretty quickly. He'll be gone by the weekend, if not sooner.

We dragged him out of office, but the coup attempt continues. We're not rid of seditious Donald Trump thanks to the hopelessly corrupt Republican party.

See, the British Government doesn't have lobbyists and Peace and the Heritage Foundation and Fox News/NewsMax/OAN, so they can get rid of him easier.

Are MPs resigning from the office, as in they are no longer in office, or is this more like a "gee, we're not Tories until Boris is gone, but we still keep our jobs."

I don't know how this works, other than that Weeners the [Clintoned in the boobies] plus multiple parties = Tories keep winning even though the greater left gets more votes than the right.

Have Americans tried consistently having about 2/3rds of the population vote in elections that aren't just Presidential? Cause you've had this problem brewing for about three decades now and never really seemed to give that option a shot.
