The unquestioned lord and master of the party went broke in an industry where people willingly came to his establishments to play games they knew were rigged against them.

He went broke over and over trying to sell gambling, liquor, meat and football to New York and Philly.

This is the true legacy of the Trump era; gone are the days of unqualified loudmouth candidates ushered in by the Tea Baggers; today's GOP demands the anti-qualified candidates, those individuals objectively least suited for the positions they're pursuing. Long live stigginit.

When I took basic economics in High School the very first thing I realized is Supply of a product is completely meaningless if nobody can afford it or want it,. Thus Supply Side Economics can't ever work. I'm still confused on how people think Supply drives an economy.

If I want to give the guy a break 2008-12 wrecked a lot of people who made a bad decision or decisions. His views he espouses concern me more but I also think Godlewski is freakin' moron for thinking she has a chance in the Democratic primary to face RoJo.

That was 100% what I was thinking of. Secretary of Energy? Dude who campaigned on eliminating it. Secretary of Education? A woman who's dedicated her entire career to ending public education. Similar for Treasury and Interior. Only outlier was Carson, who was not so much antiqualified as entirely disinterested but chosen because Donnie's a dyed-in-the-wool racist and felt compelled to have a black cabinet member over what he saw as the "black" cabinet department.

Black guy in a sea of old pasty white dudes all wearing red hats, while he himself has a shirt that says Black Guns Matter.....

The fact that he has a history of financial problems wouldn't bother me if he was a progressive candidate trying to ease the burden placed on the poor. Who better to represent the masses struggling with medical and student loan debt than someone struggling with those problems? This guy shows up with "Black Guns Matter" t-shirt (heh that's a new one) and just happens to be balls deep in debt and comes out with a completely hypocritical bootstrapping campaign? This dude is being whitemailed.

Look into the original iteration of supply-side economics, the Horse and Sparrow theory that let to the panic of 1896. A literal load of horse shiat being fed to the poor.

The theory is that increased competition and efficiency will lead to prices low enough for goods to become affordable. For example, you might notice that over the past 50 years, the prices for manufactured goods did not increase as quickly as other things, because labor costs were saved via free trade which allowed consumer good manufacturing to move from domestic sources to, for example, Mexico and the Far East. This is why fully stocked dollar stores can exist.

Meanwhile, the cost of products and services that needed to be provided domestically, such as personal services and construction and college educations and such, went up faster than the rate of inflation for goods, because you can't outsource that inflation away.

The alert reader may draw a conclusion about the true nature of inflation from this information.

You might be surprised by how many extremely wealthy people have used bankruptcy strategically to build wealth.
