He can use it all on hookers* and blow if he wants. No one oversees those things.

*he's so inexplicably, rabidly anti-gay, he obviously got a few numbers of places in Miami from Lindsey Graham

That's really the answer to fixing sh*t, isn't it...

Money.

Removing money from politics.

It's honestly the only way and I have no f*cking clue how we make that happen.

Reversing Citizen's united would be a nice start.
That would take a bite out of the larger slush funds.

and he will never release his tax returns either. and everything will be fine.

Desantis is going to make Trump look like a school girl in comparison.

Wait, a MAGA politician is trying to use their position to get rich?  *knocked over by feather*

Not clicking, but the two are connected. I assume CNN came to that conclusion.

Disney, if you're listening, now's a good time to put out some psy ops on a DeSantis-led America.

CNN reports it as a wily campaign stratagem from a seasoned elder statesman and bemoans the democrat party's chances against such a formidable foe in a time of unprecedented inflation under the tenure of the questionable leadership of sleepy joe.

Could he use that money in a presidential race?

Who's going to stop him

Isn't he being investigated for involvement with a money laundering scheme?

Yes because it turns out American's are assholes

You have to admit, Republicans stick their money where their hate is.

There's no Republican party anymore. A party has a platform. It's just the Democratic Party and the "We hate Democrats Party"

I did not know that. But I also didn't know how many times also was allowed in close conjunction. Also.

Trump has to be jealous of that money raised.

We need to pass federal legislation barring politicians from earning (in any way, even loopholes and gotchas) more than the median income of their constituents.  Such that a governor would earn the median of his or her or zir state, a mayor of the city, and the president of the nation.

Grifting solved.

And DeSantis probably doesn't have a slew of people he owes money to that he needs to avoid...

It would only be a start.  But tracing back, Citizen's United came about as a suit due to McCain-Feingold. MF had good intentions, but essentially backfired.  It led to dark money going to places, with no accountability.  And a money quote from the linked article: Money always finds its way into elections.

Honestly, at this point I think the problem should be addressed by a Hollywood producer.
You need to make a real heist film.  Get a team together:

Dirty Dozen
Ocean's Eleven
Force Ten From Navarone

You get the idea.  Recruit a team of thieves and just farking steal the money.  In the arc of the moral universe, theft is far less of a crime that what these bastards are doing.

At least you put freedom in air quotes.

Desantis doesn't care about freedom for anyone who has different views than his.

Ask a FL public school teacher about their freedoms under DeSantis.

Today he was bleating about forcing college professors to declare their political affiliation. How long until we will be required to sew a donkey to our clothing to be visible at all times?

But if you're a public school teacher you can't say that you're gay or even have a picture of your partner on your desk. And you can't teach sex education in grades K-3, even though that already doesn't happen anyway, ever.

But in K-12 he's enabled the parents to react as his own private army by ginning up culture war wedge issues. In higher ed, the students are of age, so the parents have little to say. So in this case he has to know who to target for harassment and replacement. He wants to fire these teachers and replace them with right wing ideologues,
