At least it's Pine Knob again and not DTE Energy Music Theatre

I hope for the best and wish them a speedy recovery. I was a kid but listening to Hendrix was my first taste of decent rock on a stereo record player. But woodstook is well worth a find it in the basement ... pray it can somehow be kindly cleaned if mold or some basement evil.

A woodstock link i found

I looked up DTE and it seems pine knob is built on the best and highest Mt. Trashmore so go for that.

Don't call for the cart just yet. He was waving to the crowd as he was carried offstage and is attributing his collapse to heat exhaustion and dehydration.

I think it was Las Vegas they showed him performing at last night, at an outdoor event. That and the travel are probably tough on anyone.

Carlos is 74 years old, so he's pushing it to be constantly touring. He has already said that when he can't do it anymore, he'd like to see Orianthi take his place.

I feel for subby.  When Ministry played at Blossom Music Center here in Ohio, Al Jourgensen said to the crowd, "It's really great to be here in... Kyu-ya-hoga Falls?  Ah, f**k it, it's Cleveland."

/oh and get well Carlos

Really hope this is just heat exhaustion, which can be very debilitating I know. We're all so much older now and it's sad to see prominent figures pass so I'll just share this moment with you all;

Saw Santana at Portland Meadows sometime in the mid nineties with some good friends who had conveniently brought some shrooms. We're spread out on the grass field and while it's a sunny day it isn't oppressively hot. Everything was just right.

As the sun began to touch the western hills and creep under the bandstand roof, they played Samba Pa Ti. Just as the guitar starts to gently weep at that critical point (you know the spot) Carlos turns to the West and the reddening light covers him as the music soared. Oh man, that was really moving. Will never forget that feeling.

Thanks Carlos, and the rest of the band for all these years of great music and vibes.

They asked fans in attendance to pray for Santana, who is receiving medical attention

Can I just send thoughts?

I live near The Knob. Yesterday it was over 90 degrees and pretty humid later in the evening. That didn't help.

Just saw him on 6/21 at the Shoreline in Mountain View, CA. Dude is definitely showing his years, but still rocks out from the beginning of the show to the end. Must've been pretty damn hot for him to straight up pass out onstage.

It's not even in the same COUNTY as Detroit, sheesh. When I tell folks I'm from Detroit I have to be specific to make clear I'm from DETROIT Detroit. Not Ferndale Detroit or Roseville Detroit or Melvindale Detroit or god forbid, Novi Detroit.

I have tickets to see him at the end of August right before my birthday so I hope he is okay. Being selfish here but the concert is on the weekend so I hope he doesn't have to reschedule and end up being here during the week.

Got tickets for the Doobie Brothers with Michael McDonald then it got rescheduled. Make up date was last month on a Saturday which was perfect but got rescheduled again to a Wednesday this month which kinda sucks. My wife can't get out of her job early or take much time off and the venue is over an hour away so hopefully we can get there, park and get in before it starts which is kind of doubtful. Was really looking forward to the tailgate for the Doobies but that isn't happening so I hope I can at least get some for Santana.

That is more South. I am East. But points to you for knowing the old name. Drayton Plains has pretty much been assimilated into Waterford Township to most people.

Many weekends as a youngster spent up at Waterford Hills for SCCA events. I swear it was on the last dirt road in Oakland County.
