So "Black Rifle" Is "The MyPillow" of coffee and is also my dance stage name.

I've never tried it, because I can't bring myself to pay the inflated prices for the cutesy names and the tacticool packaging, but a partnership with Jerry Jones is also an excellent reason to keep passing.

Black Rifle Coffee primarily exists to sell hats and mugs so you can signal your political allegiance.  I don't think anyone actually drinks it.

I've had it once: A friend made it with a French press, but it was ground into practically a fine powder so he really had to apply some body weight to push down the plunger. It was like drinking crude oil with how strong it was and how much sediment came through the filter.

Sediment always makes it through the French press filter. If you want to minimize that, you don't grind your coffee to powder if you're planning to brew it that way. Not to mention that most French presses are glass, and if you have to crush the shiat out of them, you're at risk of the glass breaking and splashing you with very hot coffee slurry. I'm sure the BRCC product is garbage, though. It isn't about coffee. It's about engaging in perverse right wing villainy signaling. Why would you waste the money to buy good beans given that?

I don't mind sediment, but this was "better not drink that last inch in the bottom on the mug" level.

"Virtue" signaling for fun (?) and profit

I work at an Air Force base, and the convenience store here sells Black Rifle. That stuff is so bitter tasting, it even smells bitter. I first thought the guy making it just didn't know how to make good coffee, but the other brands next to it taste just fine.

Because "Cowboys" doesn't evoke images of firearm play?

During the early stages of my divorce, the friends I lived with had some. It's not all that good. Better than some. I'd rank it 4/10.

Haven't bothered with Black Rifle, and I drink a LOT of coffee. Only funky brand I have is Death Wish (which is just okay) but I prefer our local roasters here in Richmond, VA. Currently drinking Blanchard's Dark As Dark

I had it once, from their storefront in Savannah. Didn't realize how rightwing nutso they are, but in my defense I was on vacation and hungover as hell.

Been looking for a "local" source now that I moved to Fredericksburg/ I'll give them a try.

for any DC Local folk I cannot  recommend this guy strongly enough Lockhouse Coffee.  I've been drinking his stuff since he first stated with a home roaster and brought it into our breakroom to share.   He's an absolute technician and devotee of coffee.   I have never had coffee that good from anyone else (and I used to live a block from Intelligentsia in Chicago)

Not sure about Fredericksburg's selection, but Richmond has plenty of good roasters. In addition to Blanchard's, there's:

* Ironclad Coffee

* Lamplighter Coffee

* Rostov's

* Afterglow Coffee (worker-owned)

It's still weird not writing the name they had from 1933 through 2020, but I'm training myself to think Commanders, even if I think the WFT jersey's looked much nicer.

I mean, if you didn't already hate the Cowboys you're an obvious asshole, so this won't change much.
