One of the things that was really good about the original was that only two people were the stars. Now it's all about story arcs. Netflix ruined the good kind of story-telling.

how long before they do a story bit bout finding out what happen to the last guy.  10 to 1 if they do it be something long the lines of he did one last jump and ended up staying in that body til he died.

I tried to tell them, there's two episodes that are their way to reviving Quantum Leap. "Sam" could've made a kid in the first episode of season 4, and one is revealed, and works for the project in episode 10 of season 5.

So after 30 years of work on improving the particle accelerator, his daughter steps into it to retrieve Sam. This way, Scott Bakula can make appearances at times in the series, but not have to be a constant character. It uses story based fact for the continuation.

And it would have helped undo the slap in the face that was the original series finale.

IIRC, that idea was pitched about 10 or 15 years ago.  Shame TPTB always ignore the obvious, well thought out paths for revivals.  Here's to hoping this incarnation doesn't suck.

I don't know why, but I'm a sucker for reboots that find a way to acknowledge they're a reboot within their story. I'll give this a whirl. If it sucks, I can stop watching it. If it's good, then I can enjoy it.

The best part of the old show was when he leaped, one of two things would happen immediately in his new setting. The Mrs and I enjoyed trying to guess it: (1) Kissed or (2) Punched.

I wonder if the reboot will try to focus more on actual historical events like the JFK episode.  I'm guessing we'll see the Evil Leapers by the end of the second season, though.  That's probably the next big arc after they make major progress finding Sam by the end of Season 1.

Well, if you have evil leapers, it stands to reason that he could end up with a companion leapers and then you've got Sliders

I'm not generally a fan of reboots, but I could definitely support a Sliders reboot.  I loved (most of) the original run, but that thing got so farked up by behind-the-scenes drama that I'd really like to see a fresh version that can actually follow through on a clear plan from the start, which is probably a lot easier these days where showrunners get a lot more power in general.

Speaking of Bakula returning to TV roles: where's my Chuck reboot! It's time for Chuck and Sara's neice to find "the last Intersect glasses" after her aunt and uncle disappear (for budget reasons), leaving Uncle Morgan, Ellie and Awesome to help train her.

It didn't sound terrible until they started talking about the extraneous cast. Not once during Quantum Leap did I ask myself "I wonder what the staff back at the leaping facility are doing right now? Are they embroiled in conflict with their bosses?"

Can't wait for the episode where they shut down the project only to have the team go rogue and start it up again to save Sam 2.0!

/ HBO is more at fault than Netflix; Game of Thrones is what really sold studios on serialized intrigue shows
// Also, Lost

Oh, and to see what a good Quantum Leap reboot looks like, watch Source Code starring Jake Gyllenhaal. It's basically Quantum Leap re-imagined as a movie and it's criminally underrated.

In the pilot, Ben leaps into Sam before Sam takes his first leap and intentionally sabotages the program, thus creating a temporal paradox that drives fans bananas at the Cons.

Can't remember the finale. But whatever happened to the 'Evil Leapers'   I think the show creator didn't want them they seemed like a good/interesting addition

Quantum Leap was the fist show I really got into, but Al would always loose his mind over women and things he lived through except when he was accused of murder himself. Sam leaped into him, and they replaced him with Roddy McDowall. The whole show was fun to watch since they went in order, and I hadn't seen some of the episodes like you said since the 90s.
