Poor hands

Initial investigation determined two men, Mark H. Hall, age 38, of Holmes, NY, and Fabian A. Tirado, age 22, of Wappinger, NY, stopped in the right lane of travel and exited their vehicles due to a road rage altercation. While Hall and Tirado continued to argue in the right lane, a third vehicle struck both men at approximately 1:35 a.m.

Ta-da!!

Yeah. My neck of the woods. I am not thrilled with the driving around here. A lot of pent-up anger.

Somewhere there's at least one girlfriend who's much relieved she doesn't have to worry about a messy breakup with one of these testosterone-poisoning-contest winners.

Penting seems safer.

Kent, New York - On July 2, 2022, the New York State Police began investigating a fatal collision on Interstate 84 westbound near mile marker 59.5 in the town of Kent.

Sounds like a couple hairy-handed gents have run amok.

/Thankfully Mayfair has been spared

We're not sure if it is pent-up anger or a general psychosis here in central CT. My wife has passed a major accident almost every day on her commute. My brother has witnessed two out-of car road rage interactions in the past month. And we have lived on a busy street for over two decades: only in the last few months have the car horns become noticeably more frequent.

I know it's all anecdotal. But I won't be surprised when the research tells us we are headed towards vehicular anarchy.

I-84 is in the western US.

TIL there are two separate roads named I-84. One in the northwest and one in the northeast.

Oh well.

Only sad for the third driver who can take solace in having inadvertently performed a public service

Maybe men would be better drivers if they got their hormones under control.

"While Hall and Tirado continued to argue in the right lane, a third vehicle struck both men at approximately 1:35 a.m.

Hall and Tirado were pronounced deceased at the scene. The third operator suffered minor injuries and was transported to Danbury Hospital."

GOOD. I expect a follow-up that details how the estates of the two dipshiats paid for damages to the third car.

@subby:   Throwing ANYTHING in the middle of I-84, or any highway, freeway, roadway or other motor vehicle thoroughfare is highly inadvisable and usually illegal.

Throwing a severed hand or two in the middle of the road is likely a felony.

YMMV

I mean, traffic has always been crazy, but I don't remember it being this suicidal.

I blame Obama. /s

22 and standing on the highway arguing at 1:35am?  that's young and dumb.
38 and standing on the highway arguing with a 22 yr old at 1:35 am?  How the hell did he even make it to that age?  Bet he's left a wake of wreckage in his life.

Being in a sturdy car always gives a sense of protectedness, of safety, so perfectly rational people outside a car can lose their tempers more freely because they feel safe from consequences. Sometimes.
It's like internet anonymity in a way.
farker.

Agreed also. It's like people are collectively becoming more angry, less patient. How many restaurants or stores have I been to where a sign is posted asking customers to be nice to employees. It's not just driving. It feels like in general there's a slow bleed of civility. Probably doesn't help that you never know if today is the day you become the victim in a mass casualty event either.

It's more like, "every day is a slow news day since we dumped Trump. Scour the world for some tiny outrage we can broadcast! Go, go! Nothing is too insignificant! People are getting bored out there and we're losing advertisers!"
