Fossil with a net worth of $35 million is absolutely baffled as to why people are declining to bust their asses for shiat pay, maltreatment, no childcare, and zero future promise. K, buddy

The asshole thinks $1,400, paid once, almost 18 months ago, has people so flush they're able to stay off work?  Or maybe it's the extra $300 of unemployment you could get, that has also run out?  Was that extra money so much that they haven't needed any income source in months?

It couldn't be that people just aren't willing to work backbreaking jobs for slave labor, like y'all want?

Don't you get TV or radio inside that shell?

P.S. Kentucky already allows children of any age pick crops in the field alongside their parents.  Maybe you can just remove all child labor laws altogether and (Bam!) problem solved!

Joke's on you, Mitch! I was classified as an 'essential worker' so I worked AND got some sweet gub'mint cheddar!

I was unemployed for a while, should have gotten a few grand, never saw a dime and can't get anyone on the phone or through the website. Lucky for me I don't really need it but a lot of people do.

And fark McConnel and his out of touch turtle ass.

LOL that check didn't even cover a month of rent for me.

2022-07-05 5:52:25 PM
What's that I hear? Is it the thundering roar of millions of people screaming "f*ck you Mitch" all at the same time?

Seriously, listing all the various ways in which Mitch McConnell should go f*ck himself is a full time job all on its own. Someone should write an opera on the subject.

Why do you think businesses jacked up their prices?  "You want twice what you're getting now?  Sure, but ain't it funny how everything costs twice as much?  Silly old world, isn't it?"
Never forget who runs the economy - it's a big club, and you ain't in it.

Stimulus money???? That was like 2 years ago.

Mitch is so out of touch on the costs of goods and services he probably heard the line, "It's a banana, Michael, how much could it cost? Ten dollars?" and got upset because the lady on the TV was underselling bananas.

2022-07-05 5:54:41 PM
Just as I predicted, the old farts on Capitol Hill do not understand the cost of anything. This reptilian clown probably has all his meals pre-paid at the Capitol cafeteria....

If you're too much of an ancient fossil to know what real Americans are paying to live in this country, this should disqualify you from continuing to pollute the halls of Congress with your musty, antique farts.

1 million people died from COVID. No telling how many are on disability now.

The last four years has seen a drastic reduction of legal immigration. Especially people specifically that work service industry jobs.

Child care costs more than minimum wage so many single moms lose money by working.

But yes, let's blame COVID relief from a year ago.

Over a year, still haven't seen a cent. Just started working again but I'm playing from behind having lost everything in the interim. So. There's that.

Step function & JIT manufacturing.

Thanks to covid shut downs we step functioned orders down. This led to orders for parts in the pipe to become fewer. Then post covid we step functioned orders up. Previously, parts were flowing through the pipe on a staggered time basis. Instead we have more orders suddenly for the same parts at the same time. Since we put value on product based on scarcity, the middle men buying/selling/transporting product have to outbid their competing middle men. Hence price increases.

2022-07-05 6:05:24 PM
In other words, the "donor class" are simply waiting it out until the bank accounts of the drones run dry and once that happens, they'll all come literally crawling back on their hands & knees for their jobs back, but this time it will only pay a tenth of what their pre-Covid wages were.

PLUS, each employee will be forced to write a groveling letter apologizing for daring to think they were people with rights and how much they love the boot on their necks and whip at their backs.

OK so I RTFA:

"What we've got to hope is once they run out of money, they'll start concluding it's better to work than not to work."

The unemployed are busy dying having exhausted their savings attempting to stay afloat on rent and medical bills but I mean, go off I guess.

/tell your wife's fortune I said hello

Maybe someone can finally get back to me! It's gotten so bad that my local non-profits are a lot more reactive to my applications than all these multi-billion dollar corporations.

A million less people, a bunch of early retirees, and little immigration, both legal and illegal, over the past two years, has caused your employment problems.

You want employees, streamline legal immigration so it takes less than two years to come here, or don't and sit there and complain that "No one wants to work" when everyone has a job already.

2022-07-05 6:08:13 PM
Getting unemployment isn't like winning the lottery so I don't know what Mitch is smoking but it most be powerful.

Master P but not that one: 1 million people died from COVID. No telling how many are on disability now.

The last four years has seen a drastic reduction of legal immigration. Especially people specifically that work service industry jobs.

Child care costs more than minimum wage so many single moms lose money by working.

A million that we counted. And we were under-counting pretty badly in some very populous states, on purpose.

Funny how nobody wants to take an abusive job for slave wages right after society at large spent a couple of years demonstrating to everyone in excruciating detail how little the lives of the people who do those jobs matter. I've had several friends with perfectly marketable and employable skill sets sit unemployed for over a year now.

A few others I know are technically employed, but one is working at farking wal-mart with an engineering degree (for example). The ones I know who didn't really have much education are truly farked right now.

2022-07-05 6:10:43 PM
Let me be the first to say Fark Mitch McConnell. It's pretty clear there's a select group of people that are terrified that their investments are going to tank if Americans aren't working and they're doing everything they can to make sure that doesn't happen.

So manufactured scarcity managed to manufacture some very profitable scarcity?

Mitch McConnell says that labor shortages will end when workers run out of stimulus savings.

Savings? Savings? Savings? That money was gone the day they got it.

In 1952, the top individual tax rate was 92% on all wealth above $200K (the 2022 equivalent being ~$2.2 million), and the corporate tax rates were 30% on the first $25K (~$275K in 2022) of profits and 52% on everything above that.

In 1952 the tax code also had loopholes you could sail a battleship through sideways.

Nobody, but nobody, actually paid 90% of anything.
