I watched the ending on D+. I was not at all impressed.

My guess is that the makers of these never-funny, never-insightful "Honest Trailers" must spend a lot of money to promote their junk on Digg, FARK, and Reddit, because I have never heard anyone ever say anything positive about this garbage.

You should make a video about how bad they are.

I very much enjoyed Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness and found all of the 'criticisms' in this to either be deliberately ignoring explanations given in the film or annoying nitpicking of the hipster asshole variety. As usual.

Oh, that's right. The Chinese Communist Party is angry at Disney for no longer bowing to its ultraconservative demands on films. I was wondering why all the hate was popping up on the internet for a fairly good MCU film, thanks for identifying the source!

It's rather unfair to compare two movies with different narrative premises simply because they came out at roughly the same time.

I don't like MoM simply because it didn't make sense in the context of WandaVision. Raimy is good at Raimy stuff, but, as has been proven through the decades, he's crap at women.

I haven't seen Everything Everywhere All at Once, yet. I'll get around to it because it seems a hoot in and of itself, not because it's "better at the Multiverse" than MoM.

I watched it in the theater and was disappointed. I watched it again last week and had a better appreciation for it. Parts of it weren't great but I liked what they were going for.

I think it's going to be like Age of Ultron. Kind of a dud when it dropped but will be looked upon more fondly later.

Exactly. When Age of Ultron came out, I thought it was the worst movie in the MCU. But today I fully recognize and accept that it's actually the second-worst movie in the MCU after Multiverse of Madness.

I enjoyed Multiverse of Madness, especially the music fight, zombie Strange, and the Illuminati cameos (if only to get the fan castings out of the way). My one complaint is that Wanda's story kinda relies on the viewer having seen WandaVision, and even then she goes from "grieving mother" to "psycho hellspawn" in about 5.6 seconds (although arguably, WV already undid her whole hero arc)

2022-07-05 7:31:44 PM
Everything Everywhere All at Once was the superior movie. Unfortunate for Marvel that it came out first. Fortunate for Marvel that it's release was small to mid-tier. If you have an opportunity to see it on the big screen with a few other folks, I suggest taking it.

2022-07-05 7:36:08 PM
Is it just me, or does Multiverse feel like Disney kept Raimi on a very tight leash? It was meh overall, but every once in a while little flashes of Raimi would shine through the movie, usually during the more horror-like moments. Not surprisingly, those were also the best moments of the film. Disney should've let Raimi just do whatever he wanted.

Also this, what the hell? Why bother even making a season of WV if at the end you're gonna say "and then Wanda looked at the spooky book which instantly corrupted her and undid all of her efforts to grow as a character/person".

She had no meaningful growth in the heroic direction. The second she was woken up from her villainous mental break, she then *chose* to keep doing evil to the people she'd trapped. Positive growth is not slapping her manipulator around for her own gain, having Monica Rambeau give her a free pass for being heinous for absolutely no reason, and then fleeing the scene of the crime.

Monica: They'll never understand what you gave up.

biatch, she kidnapped a town. Like Rebecca Bunch in the first season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, she was the villain of her own story.

And finished the series searching for her imaginary children with the use of the Darkhold. Funny how all the Wanda stans leave that out. Wanda going off the deep end was already telegraphed, and incidentally is very comics accurate as well.

It seemed like it was close to being a much better movie. I think it needed to have really owned the "multiverse" aspect. Go crazy on that part. It flirted with it a little, but ended up feeling like an issue of What If...

Nah, the whole premise of the bit is to mock the movies.  If you're expecting them to do anything else, you're the one in the wrong.

Just wait until they're mocking a movie you don't like, then you'll find you 'get it'.

WandaVision finished with Wanda hearing her children, in another universe, crying for help.

It did not finish with them crying for her to kill their mother and take over her role.

I'll say one thing - DON'T.

Just spent two and a half hours slogging through that sh*tfest.

The actors involved are great, the final premise is acceptable, but the journey there is looooooooong and meaningless.

My main issue with Multiverse of Madness is that in spite of the very high on-screen body count, it doesn't feel like there's any long term effects or consequences.
