Headline: '... Democrats wonder whether Biden White House is capable of urgency moment demands'

Urgent what? Rash, terrible decisions? Maybe a 'bold' tweet? T&Ps?!

You know for disarray to be news worthy you have to not be in disarray first. Otherwise you're just click baiting the rage-O-holics.

The things people are biatching at Biden for doing nothing are the things that Biden can literally do nothing about. He cannot overturn a Supreme Court decision. He cannot control gas prices. He cannot even directly control inflation. I've been on Fark for years, and I said the same thing the last time gas prices were out of control during the GWB administration in 2006 (? - I can't remember the exact year). The president is not a king.

You know who has the power to control or ameliorate all of these things? Congress. Guess who isn't doing their job? Somehow, over the past 50 years, as a country we have gotten it into our heads that our President and the Supreme Court are the REAL power brokers in the US, but it's always been Congress, and we've been giving them a free pass. Until individual districts and states begin holding their members of Congress accountable for the state of the country, we won't move forward. We can't move forward.

We now have two branches of the federal government coloring outside the lines because the third branch, which is supposed to be the closest representation of "the people" cannot get its shiat together. Biden shouldn't HAVE to try and figure out creative ways to work around Congress, nor should Obama, or Bush, or any other president. If the Supreme Court hands down a decision the majority of the country doesn't like, then it should be trivial to smack that decision down.

Only one cog isn't working. If your representatives, in the House or Senate, are not actively making your life better, then vote them the fark out. If you want more immediate results, call their office and TELL them you'll vote them the fark out if they don't start putting in some work. I lived in Eric Cantor's district and I voted that farkstick out in a primary because I couldn't get broadband internet access and he thought it was more important to spend time in DC trying to run for Senate. I didn't even like Dave Brat, I just HATED Eric Cantor. That seat eventually flipped parties. So fark you, Eric Cantor.

Hold. Them. Accountable.

Biden cannot pass the major law changes we need.  JFC.  Don't think he's weak, yes. But there's rules.  What we need from Biden is him daily stressing how important midterms are.  Point out how republicans are attacking women, then gays, then possibly trying bring us back to before the civil war and people of color are 3/5ths, but with how insane this SCOTUS has been, I could see them excluding POC completely with the argument of "just look at them.... They can't be trusted"

ah projection.

in the last two weeks, we've witnessed the 1/6 hearings showcase the best evidence that the GOP leader (Trump) actually knowingly committed sedition with others.

The Roe decision has galvanized the public behind Democrats than they had been before, with polling across the board for GOP candidates looking far more dire than they had thus far this election season.

Oh, and Biden, Newsom, and Harris all beat Trump, Pence, and DeSantis in head-to-head match-ups for 2024.

So yeah, Dems are in Disarray is the narrative de jure because reporting on the awful few weeks the GOP is actually having and their freakouts they're having would require journalistic scruples, which is asking far too much for corporate media to actually, you know, do.

/oh and gas prices are dropping, but we can't credit Biden, even though we heard endless blaming of him for the rapid increase in gas prices

You're right, subby. Things are going swimmingly. That's why to Pol tab has been a ghost town since Biden took office.

Get your head out of your ass. The Dems are currently like a monkey farking a football. They're better than the alternative, but pretending like this is all just make believe is the most mind numbingly stupid take I think I've ever heard.

The Dems are in disarray?  How could you tell the difference?

Biden is a formulaic president whose key attributes in congress - longevity and institutionalism, backslapping and building personal relationships, a willingness to work across the aisle - are simply not the skill set needed in the current climate. He probably would have made a great president in the 1980s but in the 2020s he simply seems out of his depth. When the system is failing, you don't appeal to the system itself, you use the power of the bully pulpit.

The fact that they didn't have a game plan on abortion after getting a six week heads up on what was coming should tell you everything you need to know. Ever since the shiatty end to his first year where BBB fell apart and Putin invaded Russia, Biden seems to have just sort of given up. You really think he's going to get off of this autopilot mode after the Republicans take the House and Senate?

Everybody leaning Democratic already knows that the GOP is irredeemably terrible. That's why they were pissed off when the Democratic leadership's reactions to Roe v. Wade getting overturned were either reading poems, singing songs, or text-spamming about donations.

What is most infuriating is that Dem leaders knew over a month in advance that Roe was a dead letter. And then when it became official they were all shocked and aghast and begging for money instead of slapping a plan on the table to aggressively defend our rights to the point of telling Roberts he can enforce his bullshiat decision.

But, as usual, all we get is:

One of the jobs of being president is to set the tone for the rest of your party.  Trump managed to whip Republican voters into a fervor, who in turn pressed their legislators into action.

Biden really isn't doing that.  And everywhere you turn, Democrats are angry about it.  That's not very inspiring.

I see the problem.  They're having strategy sessions with celebrities:

"celebrity Democratic supporters and activists who joined a call with White House aides"

Celebrities. The only people on the planet who know less about regular people and what they want

Lsherm: Only one cog isn't working. If your representatives, in the House or Senate, are not actively making your life better, then vote them the fark out.

Both cogs aren't working.

The executive branch has 80 judicial seats without nominees lined up. The senate is filled with old codgers like Chuck Schumer who are not carrying their weight. And, let's not talk about the complete ineffectual Democratic whip Dick Durbin.

Manchinema might be a target of ire, but the leaders are passing the buck rather than getting them in line.

Subtonic: Bith Set Me Up: Lsherm: The things people are biatching at Biden for doing nothing are the things that Biden can literally do nothing about.

That seat eventu ...

Try actually engaging them into having a reasonable discussion about legit disagreements within the party or between Progressives and *gestures wildly* everything else, and you just get memes and their version of a witty comeback.

Best to just color them in troll orange and skip the posts. Engaging them isn't worth it if they just want to drown you out

lordjupiter: TofuTheAlmighty: What is most infuriating is that Dem leaders knew over a month in advance that Roe was a dead letter. And then when it became official they were all shocked and aghast and begging for money instead of slapping a plan on the table to aggressively defend our rights to the point of telling Roberts he can enforce his bullshiat decision.

But, as usual, all we get is:

Vote Harder! Also, $15 donation, pwetty pwease. We pwomise to do something

And that plan is...?

After Ilhan Omar validly criticized AIPAC, she was *immediately* scolded by party leaders.

After Sinema and Manchin blocked voting rights, the party leaders protected those two from being rightfully rebuked.

What does mocking your double post have to do with being a moderate?  Typical lib.

Anyone who disagrees with them is a moderate. They are the only ones who know what a true progressive looks like.

Basically you can write them off as know-nothings, since they don't really know anything, but god help them, they think they do.

You say shiat like this then wonder why you get called an Authoritarian asshat.

Democratic leadership (Pelosi, Schumer et al) aim for deadlock. They don't actually want to do anything, cf. Biden's promise to industry leaders that "nothing is going to change," but they do want to protect their status, their accolades, and their insider trading, among other benefits.

That they got to scold a young black woman in Ilhan Omar just came naturally.

The authoritarian you "stopped" in 2020 left behind a bunch of SCOTUS justices.

It would seem to me that leaving them in place is letting the authoritarian keep his illegitimate authority.

Bith, Please. As we have shown time and time in our "chats" I'm far more aware of the political realities we face and how we go about fixing them. You just bleat about Democrats being evil without providing any solutions, just memes.

Think for yourself for a change, don't just regurgitate.
