Ah, someone else that doesn't understand the difference between a congressional subpoena and a DOJ (or state equivalent) subpoena

These people are arrogant as fark and have tons of money. I'm expecting them to at least fight the subpoena or just refuse to comply and flee the country for a few months.

I would be interesting to see if anybody tries to pull executive privilege in this case.

It should be a slam dunk rejection as this has nothing to do with anyones duties as president or senator.

the hubris that these assholes have is astonishing.  they have lived above the law for so long they have come to think their impunity is a right they have exclusively, and that investigations of their crimes are merely persecution, rather than the retribution of one's own misdeeds.

Oh no, Lindsey might have to be put in cuffs and thrown in a cell with hardened criminals who will look at him like a defenseless delicate flower.

I don't think they're all that worried. It's hard to build enough evidence to convict when all you have are conversations that probably were not recorded. So it'll just be two people making contradictory statements and what use is that?

If the conversations were recorded then there really isn't anything these idiots can get away with, depending on how mouthy they got.

Maybe, but let's let SCOTUS decide on that in 2 to 3 years.

Graham can claim he didn't see or hear anything because his head was buried between the Orange Traitor's ass-cheeks for the last four years.

Trump and Co committed felony election tampering in plain view of the entire world.  We've heard the phone call where he asked GA officials to "find" enough votes for him to win and threaten them with consequences.  Over 18 months later, people directly involved are being subpoenaed.  That gives them six to nine months until they testify, given the inevitable obstruction and appeals.  Maybe another 18 months until charges are filed and there's an indictment.  I fully expect by 2026 we should finally see nothing happen.

don't know bout between these guys and Trump.  but the 2 phone calls that started it all between Trump and the SOS and the guy running the state's look at fraud where both recorded.

Close.

The people who have dirt on Trump are the same ones who have dirt on Rudy.

Gov. Brian Kemp, who rebuffed pressure from Trump to call a special session of the state legislature to reverse the election results, is slated to give a video statement later this month.

He'll try to say nothing.  Kemp can't risk offending the TFG's base anymore than he has already has when he didn't throw in with him to overturn the election results and Kemp can't say TFG was right about the Big Lie because Abrams will clobber him with it and he looks weak for not doing anything back then.

But he has to say something, doesn't he?

You are assuming that these were one on one conversations. I would hope that Raffsenberger was smart enough to bring along his lawyer and aides. We know he did on the Trump call that followed the pressure from Graham and Meadows.

One thing I got from Bob Woodward's book, either fear or Peril, one of them, is that Graham is a good weathervane of Trumps candidacy. If trump has a chance in 2024 Graham will be there. He seems to actually like him...? I don't know. It's hard to know how much of these books you can trust. But it certainly came across like either Graham likes Trump, or thinks that he can use him to get the base out and voting. Which probably isn't wrong. Sadly.

Arrest the whole farking lot of them.

You would think that a Congressional subpoena would carry a bit more weight and that the consequences of ignoring one would be disastrous for the individual.

None of them like Trump. In fact I'd bet a hefty sum most of them f**king hate Trump.

They love power, and abusing that power to make money, and to do that they need enough votes to get re-elected. And unfortunately, the easiest way to do that is to appeal to the Qult.

Rudy doesn't have anywhere else to go or anyone else to turn to. He has no other career options, opportunities, or avenues for advancement.

He has burned all his bridges and destroyed all his rolodexes. No one wants anything to do with him, so he is all-in on Trump, stuck to his sphincter like a poo-eating lamprey.

That was my read from Peril. Graham knows enough to use Trump to his advantage. He's always been a fairly shrewd politician. Which is why he's been able to get reelected in South Carolina despite it being an open secret that he's a little light in the loafers

We should have two laws.

1. Senators are not allowed to campaign in other States.
2. Senators can be recalled by a simple majority vote in special elections.

I always question why we can't do recalls of fed members of Congress.  At lest Senators, House member only server 2 years then have to get reelected.  so that only a short time frame.  but Senators are 6 years they should be able to be recalled.
