I just spent an hour on the Adobe customer service line with "Christian " and "Eddie" who sounded like they were extras in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom so I'm getting a kick

Missing the actual bust.

After seeing some of the various scam fighting YouTubers, I was wondering how many people had by now heard of this kind of bullshiat.

Then apparently for about two weeks, someone had been spoofing our home landline number into caller ID and robocalling other numbers and hanging up (I guess this is to collect phone numbers of people that answer?).

Because for those two weeks, we have had a huge number of people - largely elderly by the sound of it - "someone called me from this number." I was almost going to change our outgoing message to "no, we did not call you. Look up 'VOIP number spoofing'." But the calls quit at the end of June - the last inbound caller ID is on June 30.

Now I can hardly wait until the November election season kicks off. "Hi, this is some minor GOP party minion you barely hear about asking you to vote for Brian Kemp/Chris Carr/Brad Raffensperger."

How.
About.
No.

Yeah., I'd love to watch that video, subby, but he's going into detail about cameras in the hallway, so we can apparently see people walk into the room, which doesn't really seem that important. As long as he got these guys busted, I guess it's cool, but that is really the most boring motherfarker I've listened to...

Mrs jamspoon and I have tried a number of options when we get scam calls, but the most effective we've found is to :

Ask the scammer :
- What they tell their mother they do for a living?
- Does she know they are a thief?
- Would she be proud of them if she knew?

We don't usually get to ask the last question. Wife heard a cry of pain on one occasion before they hung up. Very gratifying

I'm not watching that video, but I'll assume it's a bunch of CCTV footage with fake narration, and none of the actual take down happens.

Thanks for taking one for the team, saves me the click-and-groan.

There's more than a half-dozen of these guys on YouTube. They're using hacked versions of remote control software to take control of scammers' computers when the scammers think it's the other way around. Seems it's a losing game of whack-a-mole because the Indian authorities either don't give a shiat or are on the take.

I use Google's screening service and almost never get calls from scammers, telemarketers, or even wrong numbers.

I don't have any Apple products, but I do like talking to their Indian experts.
/Had one of them call me the n word, I couldn't do nothing but laugh, because it sounded so damn funny.

I prefer watching KITBOGA, especially when he uses his "elderly grandma" voice when playing with the scammers.
