(Some Guy)   American Airlines to give pilots 17% raise. United will still punch you in the face and drag you off plane if you dare ask for one   (aerotime.aero) divider line

I'll still fly United over any other airline. their business class products are just so far and away better than anyone else except maybe Singapore Airlines, Etihad, Emirates, and Air France.

The only thing special about first class any more is the lack of a fat person being smashed against you for the entire flight.  And that's good enough for me.

"We're giving you pilots a 17% raise."

"Yay!"

"Yep, now you'll be flying at 35,100 feet."

United's Polaris Class with the lay flat seats and privacy compartments is the best way to travel.

If I had to fly cattle class again, I'd probably jump out the window.

Singapore and Emirates look like the best first class seats due to that you can completely close the doors and be totally isolated. No strange smells from the guy next to you who hasn't showered for three days, no snoring coming from the guy on the other side of you who fell asleep, no screaming babies from the row behind you, not having to smell the farts from the guy seated in front of you.

Of course, the only way I'd be able to afford a 1st Class ticket from Singapore or Emirates is if I hit the Powerball, so I'm stuck in steerage class with the other poors.

I'm with you on that one.  But don't all the majors offer lay flats on their long haul flights now?

United flies the most domestic wide bodies though with most of those having to sit new Polaris seats. I tend to try and line up my travel to those routes.

But, yes, in general, transoceanic journeys are almost all lay flat in business or first classes.

I don't have a CC that offers these things.   Could you recommend a good CC worth getting for the air miles?

A lot depends on where you live and what airlines you fly most and how often you fly.  The Citibank Aadvantage card for example, comes with a free checked bag on each AA flight, but costs $100/year.

You might checkout thepointsguy website. He tracks all of the latest offers.   He gets a commission if you follow his links so take his advice with a grain of salt.
