Better news: Street cleaning, which has basically stopped due to alternate side of the week parking being stopped, will start up again.

/there is a reason that that policy existed

Somebody argued successfully that "people shouldn't have to keep going outside during lockdown to move their cars".


Those people were, of course, blithering morons, but I'm happy the trash will finally be cleaned from the streets again and people will start getting towed and opening up parking again.

This place is a cesspool without constant sanitation duty and even then, it's still a stinking arm out of disgust.

That's not even as ridiculous as real parking signs.

The color and order of the signs matters: the top one is the street cleaning sign, everyone needs to move, no exceptions.  And the time for that is 11 am Tuesday. 

After that the red text is the rules for everyone except for district placard holders, in which case the green applies. 

And then just read. 

But realistically, if you see this sign and you are unfamiliar with the school schedule you should park elsewhere cuz it is all tow-away and they will tow your shiat.

DC street signs: No parking every other Thursday on this side, except for when months start on a Sunday, to allow for street cleaning that never happens until somebody personally connected to a DC Council Member complains that the raccoon corpse outside of her row house hasn't been collected for two weeks

Street cleaning. One winter, when we lived in Brooklyn, alternate side was suspended for several weeks due to snow. Some dingleberry left a bunch of chicken bones in the gutter by our building that our beagle would suddenly lunge for every time we walked by and forgot the bones were there.

I mean, he isn't wrong. But the fact that this place is a giant trash can is why I actually like living here ... except all the days I dream about retiring upstate.

It's all tow away, that is literally all you need to see, it says that, like, 12 times. In case you miss the tow truck idling nearby.

This.  Also keep in mind that you're leaving something with the footprint of a studio apartment in the public commons, everybody is doing you a huge personal favor by allowing on street parking at all in the first place.
