Even better we should shoot fireworks at the drones.

From the sound of my neighborhood last night nobody cares what's "in."

How to make fireworks way more garish.

That or make drones that explode.

Dog approved for sure.  Also because people now can't tell the difference between fireworks and a mass shooting.

For some reason, I'm reminded of this movie...

'You're not making firework displays better - you're opening skies to more annoying advertising!'

We'll strap fireworks and explosives to the drones then everyone brings their guns and shoots the drones. This is America goddammit.

I'd imagine that as drones get better that they will be able to ensure the light is only emitted in one general direction.  This will be great as it will ensure that only paying customers get to see the drone show it won't both the neighbors.

That's already the case because drone shows are intended to be seen from a specific vantage point, especially given that many of the displays are two dimensional.

Rather have drone and laser light shows than fire works. Set it to music you turn into on your phone. This keeps nice pretty lights in the sky and noise level down. No scared animals.

The dudes that did the display in the park by my house were pretty slick. They unloaded the boxes around 8:30, sent up a couple of salvos 20 minutes later, waited until it was good and dark around 9:10 or so, then put on a solid 30 minute show from the middle of the park. They packed all the big pieces left over into trash bags and were gone by 10:00. After that, it was just random alley fireworks around the neighborhood until the storm rolled in.

A good drone show is far more impressive than fireworks to me.
I saw my first one last year and it blew me away. I'd choose drones over fireworks any day

I'm lucky either way...I have a dog who is somehow immune to fireworks fear, she doesn't even blink at them going off all around her. Last night we both went to bed right when the bis shows got started and slept right through them.

Why not both?

Bonus points if it just turns into a bottle rocket war.

Our cat and 3 dogs hung out with us in the bedroom while the fireworks went off all over our neighborhood. I am always surprised about how calm they are with the noises.

Had a drone recording the fireworks show last night and my kids spent more time cheering on the potential destruction of the drone by a wayward firework than the actual firework display.

It is not just the pets that have a hard time with fireworks. There were a number of years where I would be hiding in the basement to avoid the sound. When you have a stress disorder those blasts are like hammer blows on exposed nerves.

On the other hand, it is very American to care more about blowing crap up that we care about causing problems for others.

This.
It'd also be an excellent time to buy stock in one of those companies, or if you're young and so inclined, an excellent time to start your own company since the existing ones are beyond overwhelmed.

I almost broke out MY drone to FILM the fireworks last night, but then i figured, i won't even want to watch this again, why would someone else?

So... they've fixed that lithium battery fire annoyance?

I really wanted to buy a drone, but they are pretty expensive and I found that they are banned in all our county, state and federal parks. I think the city probably also has a restriction, so what the hell would I do with it? Fly around the living room?
